"Red is a nice colour..."
"Blue is way better though!"
These childish conversations were often shared between Shu and Valt as children, but it was not thought much of. After all, they were simply talking about colours.
But red and blue did have different meanings to each of them.
To Valt, blue represented freedom and imagination, made in a peaceful ocean. The way calmness fell over him whenever he saw a light shade of blue made Valt adore the colour blue. However, he liked to ignore the stormy seas and sadness that blue could represent. Red was never a colour he had liked very much as it represented anger and blood to him.
To Shu, red represented passion and love, which was relatable for him considering the passion and live he would put into things he loved. The way he would feel so energised whenever he saw a shade of red made Shu adore the colour red. However, he liked to ignore the anger and blood red could represent. Blue was never a colour he liked very much as it represented stormy seas and sadness to him.
To Shu and Valt as small children, colours were something special to them, as they were what made the world they lived in feel alive.
But as teenagers, colours were something else to Shu and Valt. Colours were simply just a thing. Just something that existed. Something insignificant. But... their conversations on colours that were their first conversations togethes oon became their last.
"Shu... Shu! P-please don't..." Valt held back a sob, crawling over to Shu's body.
"I'm... sorry-" Shu choked out, pools of blood forming around him.
Valt gasped. "No! Wait, please hold on... I-I think the ambulance is coming-"
And at their convienience, rain began pouring down and setting that stupid sad atmosphere like in the movies.
Sadness engulfed Valt as he watched Shu die in front of him. Blue. The crimson red blood forming around Shu. Red.
"I don't think I can-"
"No! D-don't say that!" Valt yelled.
"Well," Shu whispered, glancing at his blood, dying in his favourite colour. "I always told you red was the better colour."
