Time flows like moving water in a river, sometimes it's quick and sometimes it's slow.
Sometimes it's calm, sometimes it's wild.
Memories are also lost in time, being washed away in a river.
They do not go very quickly but flow away one day.
Some memories are far too bright and beautiful to be washed away, so they stay afloat forever, in a glass jar, never to be forgotten.
Some memories are too plain and boring to stay, so they quickly drown in the overwhelming waves.
Time is also a medicine- a strange one however.
It heals cuts and wounds, making them completely disappear from your mind.
But there's a catch- it doesn't do anything to scars.
Mental scars are forgettable, and are washed away, at first seeming to be never thought of again.
But when remembered upon, the memory comes back, and the cycle repeats.
You forget the scar.
You think of it.
It comes back.
Repeat.
It is not unknown that Shu Kurenai has a scar as well, having it been that his infamous scar was all over social media.
However, time has done nothing at all to heal his scar.
He simply can't forget it.
Shu didn't mind that it affected his physical appearance, after all, the physical scar was hidden behind his hair.
What was unfortunate was the mental scar- left by the one and only Lui Shirosagi.
He left a searing, painful scar in Shu somehow- and it's driven the poor white-haired boy over the edge.
Time is almost useless to Shu- what worth was it if it had never done anything for him?
What was important was whatever could benefit him.
Just
him
and
no
one
else.Power, was what he needed.
The only thing time has done for him?
Well, bring him power, of course.
~
Memories are easily forgotten by Lui.
They were nothing of worth, nothing valuable.
Which was why memories are quickly sunk.
But perhaps a few resided in his mind.
First, when he gave Shu his scar.
No, Lui wasn't jealous of the popularity he had accidentally given Shu or anything, rather the regret he felt, a pit of it slowly forming in his stomach.
It was truly odd- he has never felt pity or regret for any of his opponents.
Then again, Shu was the first one Lui physically hurt.
The memory was neither bright or plain, but still stayed stuck in his head, replaying every chance it got.
It left a small scar too- Lui's first mental scar.
It wasn't painful persay, but- it left him wallowing in regret.
Time- oh useless time- as it ticked away all the memories and wounds, but only making the scar hurt more, ache more.
The second was seeing Shu as Red Eye.
It crushed him internally to see that he was the cause of Shu's descent to a polar opposite of himself, that he was the cause of every damn thing that happened during the tournament.
What was he thinking, carelessly trying to scar bladers' faces?
Time, memories and scars.
What a trio.
