CHAPTER ONE

Success

Amara Venice's Point of View

How do you determine success?

They said that success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you're doing, you will be successful but in my case, success is the key to happiness.

Without it, I don't have the appreciation that my parents are giving me. I don't have the amusement that people are giving me.

Success is bliss for me. Success is what I have grown for. I've been living all my life having the pressure from my parents on my shoulder and I'm getting used to it.

To the point that I cry whenever I got a line of 8 from any of my subjects.

Well, that's me. I'm used to crying whenever I failed because I felt that I also failed as a daughter. My achievements are what my parents can make them happy. Every move I make in the school is being watched by them, especially my Mom. That's why I'm always careful in every move I make.

Achievement is largely the product of steadily raising one's level of aspirations and expectations that's why I always live for expectations. I'm happy whenever I made my parents happy. Ever since I was a child, I started to attend school early.

I was 3 years old when I attended a daycare. Starting then, I can't live without my tutor. I got tutored until 6th grade. As much as I don't want to have a tutor, I don't have any reason to disobey it when my Mom decided it.

They said that high achievements always take place in the framework of high expectations and I agree. I don't want to disappoint my parents because I always want them to be happy. I don't know what to do if ever that I might disappoint them.

I don't have friends because my Mom doesn't want me to have them. Yes, I'm a loner that's why I was named a 'cold-hearted witch' in our academy.

I'm a graduating senior high school student and I'm preparing for the entrance exam. I decided to continue my studies at Hearthstone University. Well, my parents aren't against it. They're okay as long as I study.

The entrance exam at Hearthstone University is fast approaching so I need to study now.

I sighed as I read the reviewer that Hearthstone University gave. I need to study more so that I can top the entrance exam.

I was about to scroll down when I heard a knock outside. My eyes instantly darted on the closed door.
