Chapter 20 - Love you

Harsha's POV
He slept on the other edge of the bed and I on this edge. I picked on the sheets, not knowing what to do. My heart beat was rising-
I heard a low snore. I turned around to see Shiva sleeping soundly.
I got up from my side of the bed, and stared at him with my mouth open in disbelief.
I got closer and waved my hands over his face.
"Wah. How rude, you don't even tell me anything. Not even a I really missed you or...," I whispered, "How dare you sleep like this?"
I propped myself on my elbow and stared at the sight. I slightly bopped his nose, then quickly moved my finger away. This is the closest I've been next to him. His breathing grew heavier as he slept soundly. I cupped his right cheek in my hand, my thumb caressing it.
"You must have been really scared when I didn't come back," I said softly "I'm scared too, that one day I'll-
"You said you won't do anything to me," he muttered.
I pulled away my hand faster than the speed of light.
He opened his eyes slowly.
"You said you would control yourself."
"Ah..ah I-I thought you were asleep."
Shiva pulled me towards him by my elbow.
"You don't need to"
"Hmm? I don't w-what."
"Control yourself."
I let out a nervous chuckle. This was a bad idea.
"Are you sleep talking," I pushed his arm off my elbow.
He pulled me back again, looked deep into my eyes and placed his thumb on my chin.
"I want you to say it, how you feel."
"Pfffft. I don't think this is exactly how I want-"
He moved his thumb across my cheek, "I love you."

Shiva's POV
She froze for a second, her lips parted not knowing what to say.
"Wow I-" she stopped herself, "I do too." She was trying her best not to make eye contact with me.
"Look at me," I said.  She managed to move her eyes to me.
"Tell me now."
She took a deep breath.
"I...love you too," she said, her voice almost a whisper. I let it sink. We looked at each other intently.
"I've never seen you so shy, it's amusing," I said, fascinated. She didn't say anything for a long time.
"Ahem...are we supposed to kiss now?" she said breaking the silence. I pushed her away.
"Hey...I can't wait another 10 years for a kiss."
"You're too honest sometimes. I would have if you didn't ask that," I said grinning.
"Aww, fine let's do it again." She moved next to me and placed herself in the same position as before.
"You're so weird."
'Thanks for the compliment." She put her arms around me, and moved her head onto my chest.
My breathing became heavier.
"I'm glad I make your heart beat fast, I would be disappointed otherwise" she said smiling like an idiot.
I groaned. "There are things you should just keep to yourself. It's so awkward if you don't."
"It's more fun that way."
I ran my finger through her hair.
Pretty. Pretty. So pretty.
