@soLoThiNkER - Thank you for the first vote! It's not here now since I republished the book. But point is, I was losing motivation for this story cause no one was reading it, but you motivated me again to continue this story 😊.

Harsha's POV
I ran up the stairs of Panchami maema's (aunt not related). It was the tallest house there and gave a great view of the vazhukumaram contest. Shiva was partaking in this, and he stood there shirtless, the defined lines of his abs, hair tousled. I was trying to stare too much at his beautiful body. He looked up from below eyes, challenging me.

A few moments ago

Shiva's POV
"You're going to do it?" she asked in surprise, "That is for men."
I scowled at her.
"I don't think you'll make it."
I squared up to her and looked into her eyes.
"Bet?" I asked.
"On what?"
"Do whatever I say for a day." She became uneasy.
"That's a little too much. A day can be so long, so much to ask...What if you ask me to bring you 1 lackh rupees?"
I laughed, "Nice idea but I won't ask you anything you can't do."
"That is if you win."
"I'll do whatever you say for a day if I don't win."
A smirk rose up her face
"Well then..."

Third person POV
Shiva started climbing and made a quarter way but slipped down. Two more tries. He climbed farther up, happy that he was closer and moved his hand to climb just a little higher. In excitement he slipped back to halfway, struggling to stay at the spot. One more try. He could hear the faint laughter of Harsha from above. Ignoring it and not losing confidence, Shiva took a deep breath and started climbing. The laughter stopped, Shiva grinned. People from below cheered, he had been the one to get the highest.

He went down and looked up, it's not the cash prize he was waiting for but her.

Next Day

Harsha's POV
Shiva looked at his watch, "4:00 pm," he said, "Until tomorrow 4 pm you listen to me." He had a grin on his face.
We had come to clean up. I kicked a rock near my foot. Without my disbelief and reverse psychology he wouldn't have won to be honest.
I looked up toughly straight into his eyes.
"Okay," I said
Neelu chechi looked at me, paining for me I suppose.
"You don't regret this," he asked.
"Of course not, I got myself into this. Plus now that I think about it, a day can't be that long."
"Tomorrow's school. We go to the same one right?," he said, lowering the panthal.
I hadn't thought of that.
I sighed in defeat and said, "It's fine. You said you'll only ask for what I can give."
"Go easy on her," Neelu said, "She's like a child."
(A/N: That sounded weird but I hope you know what I meant...)
"This?" he said pointing to me, "Yeah, Yeah, if there was such a thing as a demon child." I ignored it and his friends and his brother laughed. My cousins weren't here to witness all of this and I'm glad. I had told them there were others coming and only one person was needed. My mom didn't allow it but I said Neelu and Maya chechi will be there so it's okay. My dad supported me and let me go, afterall, I had to face Shiva and this was the only excuse I could come up with.
"Anyways," Shiva started, "Considering Neelu's request as a best friend, I won't be unreasonable."
"Yet," he added. His friends laughed once more, and I mumbled cursing to myself.

Shiva's POV
It was as if I brang a wild animal into control, a hesitant, beautiful one luckily. Sure, I liked her. I liked her very much but I didn't want to accept it. I keep ignoring whatever she was doing to me and my feelings. I wasn't going to ask her to love me or anything (reducing the cliche here), I know she already does.

'You're wasting time," Varun yelled. I look to see Harsha glaring at Varun. I smiled as I thought of what I could do. I stopped untying.
"Untie the panthal yourself and move the speakers back. Maybe even do the rest of the cleaning," I said to her.
She blinked and looked up at the wooden rods tied up, the ropes higher than what she could reach. Other than Neelu and Maya, the rest of us stepped out of what we were doing.
'We'll get into trouble if we don't finish in time," Maya said.
"Just for 10 minutes let her do the work, you don't want me to start on what kind of trouble she's put me in, this is nothing compared to that."
Maya and Neelu refused to let her do everything. We could get into real trouble if but this was just for fun. Just like the old days.

A/N: Sooo Vazhukumaram contest - I don't know how to explain this (help me) but basically it's this tree trunk thingy (???) and it's really slippery, they put I believe oil on it. And you're supposed to climb to the highest compared to the other contestants to win. It's hard because most of the time you'll slip down really easily. But for the sake of the story, I decided to make the main character win, though it seems a little unrealistic.
