"Attention please!" Dumbledore yells. "Hogwarts has been chosen to host The Tri-Wizard tournament. For those of you who do not know, the tournament brings together three schools for a series of magical contests. A single contestant is chosen from each school. Now let me be clear, if chosen you stand alone. Trust me, these contests are not for the faint-hearted, but more of that later. For now please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of magic and their headmistress Madam Maxime." The Beauxbatons girls dance in before sitting with the Ravenclaws. "And now our friends from the north, please greet the proud sons of Durmstrang and the high master Igor Karkaroff." The Durmstrang boys enter and do their routine.
"Father wanted me to go there but Mother wouldn't let me." Draco says. "She said it was too far away."
"That was too far away?" Ursa says in shocked confusion. "She sent me across a bloody ocean. Probably didn't want both of us far away."
"Honestly he probably would have found a way to get you in there too if you were home."
The Durmstrang boys head towards the Slytherin table. "Why do I recognize the High Master?"
"Igor Karkaroff? Old family friend."
"DE?" Ursa asks, using their code for Death Eaters.
"Yes. He snitched and was freed. He was another reason Father wanted fo me to go there." The Durmstrang boys settle with the Slytherins, Viktor Krum next to Ursa.
"Oh my God. Viktor Krum is sitting next to you." Draco whispers in Ursa's ear.
Ursa sighs and rolls her eyes. "Like I care." Ursa replies normally. The girls around them start talking and flirting with Viktor while the boys ask for autographs. "Oh my God will they shut up?" Ursa notices Dumbledore trying to get everyone's attention. Ursa stands and looks at the people crowding Viktor. "I am hungry and annoyed. You all have to the count of three to sit down and shut up or I will get angry."
"I would listen to her. She's terrifying." Draco says.
"She is." Crabbe and Goyle both say.
"One —" some people sit. "Two—" most of them sit. "Three—" there is one boy left standing. "Sit. Down." Ursa glares at him and he stares her down. Ursa draws her wand and points it at him. "Asini Descendio." The boys gasps as he is forced to sit down. Ursa puts her wand away and sits.
"Thank you." Viktor says.
"I did not do it for you." Ursa replies.
"Your attention, please!" Dumbledore yells. "I would like to say a few words. Eternal glory, that is what awaits the student who wins the Tri-Wizard Tournament. But to do this that student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks. For this reason, the Ministry has seen fit to impose a new rule. To explain all this we have the Head of the Department of International Magic Cooperation Mister Bartimus Crouch." Thunder roars overhead, rain begins leaking through the roof, and screams break out. A strange man stands in the doorway, he casts some magic upwards and seals the roof. Peace is restored. "My dear old friend, thanks for coming."
"That stupid roof." The strange man says.
"That's Mad-Eye Moody. He arrested Auntie." Draco whispers to Ursa.
"I know." Ursa whispers back. "Bartimus Crouch? Like Barty Crouch?
"Yep. That's his father."
"He doesn't look like the father of a psychopath."
"To be fair, neither did Grandfather Black."
