The bell rings and Ursa goes up the stairs. Other students slowly file in and Ursa puts her bag on the seat next to her.
Lavender Brown tries to move her bag. "Do not touch my bag." Ursa says
"You can't save seats." Lavender replies.
"Watch me."
Draco walks up to the two. "Do you need something? No? Then go away." Draco says to Lavender. She glares at both of them before walking away. Ursa moves her bag and Draco sits down next to her. "What was she doing?"
"Trying to tell me I can't save a seat." Ursa replies.
"How did you know I would sit by you?"
"You did in History of Magic and I know Mother told you to keep an eye on me. Probably told Severus to also."
Draco takes his book out as everyone hears Moody clunking his way down the corridor. "You won't need those books. Just put them away." Moody says as he walks in. He walks up to the front of the room and writes on the blackboard. He repeats what he writes aloud. "Alastor Moody." He continues. "Your Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher for the year. I'm here cause Dumbledore asked me end of story." He takes out a register. He reads down the list, his normal eye going down the list while his magical eye looks at the students. "Malfoy, Draco."
"Here." Draco says.
"Malfoy... Ursa." Moody looks up with his normal eye too.
"Here." Ursa says and Moody looks at her with both eyes for a few seconds.
Moody finishes the list. "Right then. Your last teacher left me a letter of what you did and it seems you're behind in dealing with curses. When it comes to the Dark Arts, I believe in the practical approach. But first, which of you can tell me how many Unforgivable Curses are there?"
"Three sir." Hermione says without raising her hand.
"And they are so named?" Moody asks.
"Because they are unforgivable. The use of any one of them will..." Hermione trails off.
"Earn you a one-way ticket to Azkaban. Correct. I believe some of you in this room have family that learned that the hard way."
Ursa leans over and whispers to Draco. "He's talking about us isn't he?"
"And a couple others." Draco whispers back.
"Now, the Ministry says you're too young to see what these curses do but I say different." Moody says. "You need to know what you're up against! You need to be prepared. So, which curse should we see first? Weasley!"
Ron flinches. "Yes..." He says.
"Stand." Ron stands. "Give us a curse."
"Well, my dad did tell me about one, the Imperius Curse."
"Oh, yeah, your father would know all about that. Gave the Ministry quite a bit of grief a few years ago. I'll show you why." Moody pops open a jar with a spider inside it. "Hello, what a beauty." He picks up the spider and holds it in his palm. "Engorgio, Imperio." Moody forces it onto the desk in front of him and around the room. "Don't worry." The spider jumps of Crabbe's head. "Completely harmless." It jumps to another desk and runs up a girl's arm before it hovers over Ron. "If she bites." Ron starts whimpering. "She's lethal." It lands on Ron's head and Draco starts laughing loudly. "What are you laughing at?" It jumps over to Draco's face and he start whimpering while Ursa just laughs at him.
