Chapter 1: Ursa's Return

"Hello?!" Ursa yells as she walks into the manor. "Hello? Anyone home?"

Narcissa steps out of the sitting room. "Ursa? Is that you?" She runs over to Ursa and hugs Ursa tightly. "What are you doing here? You are not meant to be here for another three weeks. What are you wearing?"

"Hello Mother. So I did beat the letter. Good. I got expelled from Ilvermorny and I'm wearing No-Maj clothes. Apparently, everything I own would have made me stand out on the airplane or whatever it is called."

Narcissa crosses her arm. "How did you manage to get expelled?

"I used magic on a No-Maj, sorry on a Muggle."

"Now why would you do that?"

"Ursa Jade Malfoy, you had better have a good excuse for getting expelled!" Lucius says as he storms into the foyer.

"So I did not beat the letter?" Ursa asks.

"No, you did not. You arrived before I told your mother." Lucius replies.

"Well there is a small town near the school that we visit, it is populated with Muggles and Wizards. I was hanging out at a diner and a Muggle guy tried flirting with me. He did not go away after I turned him down. He decided to be an idiot and touch me, so I transfigured him into a frog. I got in trouble for using magic on him and in front of other Muggles. It was my third strike." Lucius and Narcissa both sigh. "He was 18 and I was not the first girl he had attempted it with! I was not going to let him get away with it!"

"Fortunately for you, the school term finishes in a week, so I will not make you attend Hogwarts yet."

"So did the MACUSA take your wand?" Narcissa asks.

"They think that they did." Ursa replies.

"What does that mean?" Lucius asks.

"I had a replica made for when I would get into trouble, so I gave them that."

"Well, your room should be how you left it the last time you were here. It might be a little dusty." Narcissa says.

"Is Dobby slacking?" Ursa asks. Narcissa and Lucius both look annoyed. "Alright, that is a sore topic. Got it."

Narcissa gently takes Ursa's hand. "Come on dear." Narcissa starts leading her towards the stairs when Ursa's bag starts hooting and shaking. "What is in your bag?"

Ursa sighs and takes her bag off. "I'm sorry Lyra." Ursa opens her bag and pulls out an owl cage with a female snowy owl in it. "I forgot you were in there." Lyra turns around on her post. "Do not give me that attitude Lyra, I'm sorry."

"We should take her to the owlery first."

"Probably. She's been cooped up in there for hours. I had to use Muggle transportation and they do not allow the transportation of owls." They go out to the owlery and Ursa releases Lyra. Ursa gives Lyra a handful of treats and Lyra nuzzles her head against Ursa's hand when she finishes eating them. "Thank you for forgiving me."

They go back inside. "A year ago your father was tricked into freeing the elf by a boy."

"Good for Dobby." Ursa replies with a smile as Narcissa leads her up the stairs.
