I huffed as I looked at all the dancing bodies around me. I was bored and I wanted Dean. Then the perfect idea hit me, call Dean. I don't know why I didn't think of this before. I frowned as I realized I didn't have his number, so I texted Jack for it. I hesitated ringing him; what if he thought I was weird? Giving in I dialled his number, spinning around in my chair as I waited for him to pick up. I gasped when I saw that he actually answered.
"Heeeeyyyyy Dean. It's me Jade. I miss you, you've been avoiding me."
"I haven't been avoid⏤Wait, are you drunk?"
"Just a teeny bit," I giggled, biting the olive off the cocktail stick. They tasted nasty but they were so cute and tiny.
"Where are you?"
"I'm not telling you. You sound mean," I frowned at his harsh tone.
"If you tell me where you are we can spend some time together." I contemplated over it before deciding I wanted to see Dean. He'd been avoiding me the whole week, only muttering a quick hi and bye if we were in the same room. Other than that he's been acting like I don't exist and I was beginning to get annoyed and sad. Having the boy I like so so so so so so much ignore me hurt my feelings. It was Christmas yesterday and Dean came over briefly and I didn't even get a merry Christmas from him. So here I was on boxing day drinking alone like a sad grinch. "Jade?"
"Oops, I'm at a club. I think it's called dollhouse."
"What the fuck are you doing there?"
"Drinking of course." What a silly question.
I went to pick up my drink but a body stepped in front of me, effectively blocking me from chugging my liquor. "I payed a lot of money for that. Move," I snapped, not only was he stopping me from drinking, he was stopping me from talking to my Dean.
"Feisty I like it," the stranger winked.
"Jade who are you talking to?"
"Excuse me Mister," I held my finger up. "This random guy. If you squint your eyes just enough he looks like a lion. Isn't that cool?" I exclaimed, my face brightening into a smile.
"I'm coming for you. Don't talk to anyone," he said before hanging up and I pouted at my phone. I barely got to speak to him.
The man lifted my chin and I cringed back. "I'm Alec."
"You've got a funny name. It's like Alex but it's got a c instead." His strange name wiped the pout off my face, turning it into a toothy smile.
"Your name?"
I shook my head at Alec, my hair falling around my face. "No way. Stranger danger."
"Well stranger, wanna have some fun?" He smirked, holding his hand out.
"You're not a criminal are you?" I checked because I was not trying to go to jail. That was one thing that's not on my bucket list.
"No," he chuckled.
"And your not a weirdo?"
"Nope."
"So why did you come up to me?"
"You looked bored and sad. I'd never give up the chance to cheer up a pretty girl."
Shrugging, I take his hand and he led me to the dance floor. What's the worst that could happen? "You know you really do look like a lion," I said honestly, squishing his cheeks as I looked over at his long blonde hair, ginger-ish beard and big black eyes.
