An eight hour plane ride and fifteen minute boat ride later and we were on the wonderful Island of Bora-Bora. It looked like a dream; I already knew I was going to love it.
It was funny watching my mom go into airport mode. She wouldn't even let us hold our passports, and that included Dean's. Although what was not fun was waking up at five in the morning even though our flight was at eleven. Why did we have to be awake six hours before the flight?
I thought we were going to be staying in the bungalow huts that overlooked the water but Mom did us one even better and got us a beach front villa, with it's own pool, even though the lagoon was less than a yard away from us.
I had to admit there was a certain anxiety that filled me from being so far away from Chantelle's grave. I wouldn't be able to walk over to her grave and cry about everything that was wrong because we were halfway across the world. Not that I planned on crying on this trip.
"Unfortunately I could only get a three bedroom villa. So two of you will have to share," Mom said looking directly at Dean and I. As much as I would love to share with him I have a feeling that would raise too many questions if I offered us up.
"I'm having my own. See you suckers," Justin said, running away with his suitcase. Never mind.
"Looks like you two will be sharing," she said before Frank walked off carrying my mom in his arms. I scrunched my nose up as her giggles echoed through the hall. I was glad she was happy and all but ew.
"This is gonna be fun," Dean said, throwing an arm over my shoulder.
"Lets go see our room." I slapped his chest at his dirty smirk as we walked upstairs. Arriving to the only free bedroom I opened the door, looking around. It was huge, with a king sized bed and a lot of windows. After putting the luggage down Dean flopped on the bed and I joined him.
"I'm so tired," I groaned.
"We just got here," he chuckled, pulling me on top of him.
"I know but we had to wake up so early and I didn't get any sleep on the plane," I complained, closing my eyes as he undid my dutch braids. Letting my hair unravel around my shoulders I snuggled into Dean, comfortably sighing. I embraced the tingles travelling down my spine from our contact.
"You gonna go to sleep?"
"No but I'll just rest for a few minutes."
"Okay well I'm gonna go for a swim," he said, patting my ass and I rolled off him so he could get up, moving to the top of the bed. Humming incoherently, I watched as he got out a pair of swimming trunks for his suitcase before walking off to our en-suite and my eyes fluttered shut.
Opening my eyes again when I heard our door shut I got up before I actually fell asleep. Putting on a bikini I decided to explore the house. As I walked around I noticed the house had a wooden theme if that made sense. Everything was made out of different shades of wood; the floor, the ceiling and majority of the furniture. It was all so beautiful.
And it was a nice change to be reconnected with nature instead of being stuck in a mainstream city. I like the city life, it's all I've ever known but sometimes it's a bit much; I was grateful for the retreat, where not a single tv was in sight.
Going down a hall, I saw all the different rooms for dining. Who needed five rooms for eating? It also had a gym that I would not be going near; I hate working out. I was happy with the little bit of pudge covering my stomach.
