Chapter 8: Plan

Sabo's POV

"WE'RE WHAT?!" Luffy screamed.

"SHHHHH!" I panicked, grasping his arm.

He fell silent as I placed my hand over his mouth.

"Be quiet, someone else can find out!" I let go and sighed. "We travelled back in time." I repeated.

"So you two are actually from the future?" Makino stepped closer.

"That's so cool!!" Luffy whispered with excitement.

O took off my hat and lifted my hand onto my forehead.

"No its not cool! No one can know about what happened but you told Makino!" I stated. "Who knows what can happen now!" I paced back and forth.

"I don't really see what the problem is. We can just go more back in time right?" Luffy smiled.

"It's not that simple Luffy, the only way to time travel is by using the stupid device. We don't have it right now, and if we don't find it then it's only a matter of time before more people find out." I kept pacing.

"Hey Makino." Luffy turned to his right.

"Uh..yeah Luffy?" She replied.

"Don't tell anyone I told you about the future." He said in a calm tone.

She stared slightly concerned. "To tell the truth I would much rather forget this ever happened."

"Gah!" I groaned. "What do we do?!"

The two stayed quiet.

"Maybe it's better this way." Luffy spoke.

"What do you mean?!" I stared toward Luffy.

"I don't know if Makino should know about what happened, but wouldn't it be better just to save Ace?" Luffy said taking a step towards me.

"W-why should we do that?" I asked.

"Why not? Ace is our brother and now we have a second chance at saving him." His voice slightly changed into a serious tone.

"Luffy we have no clue how that thing works. What if it doesn't work like that. Not only that but you realize how drastic that change could be?!" I replied.

"We could save Ace, Sabo?! We could save our brother!!" Luffy shouted.

"Luffy, I don't think you understand what I mean..." I looked away and placed my hands over my face.

Makino stayed silent, this might've been the first time she actually saw us fight.

"We can talk about this later, right now we both agree to find the stupid thing, right?" I turned back to Luffy.

"Yeah." Luffy crossed his arms.

"We can look around here since this is where we landed. It might've fell into Gray Terminal so we should definitely look around there. Makino, please don't tell anyone about this, and if you can help us find the device that got us here." I said, turning my attention to her.

"Even though I don't understand half of what's going on, I want to help you two. It's no coincidence you two look like Sabo and Luffy. The fact you have Sabo's hat and Luffy has Shank's hat just proves you're from the future." Makino spoke.

"Thank you, Makino. The device is purple and glows. There's numbers surrounding it and it's in a sphere shape. You got that?" I asked.

"Yeah, don't worry." She replied.

Drip...

I felt something cold drop onto my face. Taking off my glove, I lifted my hand up.

Drip...

A drop of water fell onto my hand. Then another one did the same. Makino looked behind her and gray clouds spread across the sky.

"Rain, huh?" Luffy muttered while looking to the sky.

"How about we stay at The Party's Bar. I'm sure you two can stay there until the rain passes." Now turning to us, Makino explained.

"You and Luffy can go, I actually wanted to check on the town." I stated.

"Can I go?" Luffy asked.

I replied. " No, you're definitely not going."

"Why not?!" He yelled.

I put my hand on his shoulder. "Luffy, with that scar on your cheek the townsfolk will notice you right away. We used to sneak into restaurants all the time. Not only that but the hat and your clothes don't exactly look like something a noble would wear."

Luffy sighed in disappointment.

"Sorry but I don't think we can get you anything expensive without actually buying." Looking at Luffy's attire, I smiled.

"Well I can say the same thing about you, everyone knows you by that hat." Makino pointed to the hat on my head.

"At least hats are accessories." While speaking I gave my hat to Makino. "You guys can keep it until I get back."

"Can I please come, Sabo?" Luffy begged.

"Luffy, we're not looking to kick someone's ass. All I'm doing is looking, okay?" I explained.

Luffy sighed. "Fine, okay you can go without me."

I smiled. "Don't worry, I won't be out for long."

"And you're sure no one will recognize you?" Makino added.

I looked upward. "The only ones who might would be my parents. Even so I have this scar and my hair grew out. If I don't drag any attention then I'll be fine."

"Okay, good luck Sabo." Makino gave a small smirk.

"Good luck!" Luffy grinned.

"I'll see you at the bar!" I replied.
