Makino's POV

[While Sabo was waiting for his past self and his dad to arrive home]

"According to Sabo, this device can make people time travel some how. Maybe it has something to do with the numbers? They could be like labels on how far you want to go back." I thought.

"This is so complicated, I can't believe time travel actually exists..." I sighed.

"Hey miss, did I just hear you say time travel?"

I turned to my right and a poor looking old woman stared at me. She was skinny and wearing a brown dress. Her hair was grey and messy. Her eyes were yellow, with a tint of gold.

I panicked. "UH- no! Not at all! In fact it doesn't exist! It can't exist, at least without a devil fruit-"

She raised her hand, palm facing me. "Oh no, time travel exists. In fact, an old relative of mine told me stories of it. It was said an Island deep in the Grand Line had a kingdom with people who could time travel." They smiled.

"Uh...can you tell me more?" I asked, sitting down on a flat surface.

She sat down as well. "I remember the story faintly but I know the power by heart. From what I know the time travel power could travel through memories. If you killed yourself as a time traveler, your memories of time travel will be gone, but your conscious is in the past you's body."

"Wait, kill yourself?" I questioned.

"Yes, the story has been scattered and broken so not everyone may have gotten the full story. Even though they could travel through memories, they couldn't teleport back to present day. They had to wait until present day so their time travel memories can catch up to their actual bodies. "

I listened carefully to her story.

"One tried killing themselves and once they did, they never remembered time traveling. The only ones who knew about this were the defenders of the island and some family members. Some families escaped the island and spread the word." She spoke calmly.

"This doesn't make sense, if these people had the ability themselves, where did this device come from?"

"Do you know what this is?" I picked up the drawing of the device Sabo drew.

"Let me guess, it's purple and glows?" They asked.

I gasped. "Yes, does it have something to do with your story?"

"The Evocation Disc, from what I've heard, was powerful and it could defeat anyone. This was said because you could time travel using it. Out of nowhere, people started calling it useless for being unusable. This was because you had to wait who knows how long to get back to the present. In Gray Terminal, plenty of pirates tried getting it but once they found it, they always left it. No one was brave enough to wait for their desires. Sadly, no one knew you could kill yourself to get rid of the memories." She claimed.

"After all this time, another power was hidden in this mysterious sphere."

"But hey, what do I know, I'm just a poor woman living in a poor area." She smiled and started walking away.
