“Hey." I said, walking through the door and placing the two plates on the table.
"Thank you." He said, smiling as he looked at the bowls. "That looks very good."
I laughed. "Both are for you, I brought my own." I said showing him my instant ramen and walking to the kitchen.
"You should start eating healthier."
I chuckled and looked at Sasuke with 'you serious?' face.
"Yeah, because that's going to happen....ha!"
He smiled. "So what are we training today?" He asked.
"We'll have to go to Kakashi today, remember?"
"We? Excuse me?" He asked with a smirk.
I gave him a grin as I placed my ramen on the table and started eating.
"What's this?" His voice ringed as he sat next to me.
"Try it, you'll like it." I encouraged. "Everybody does."
He looked at me weird as he tried the French toast.
"Usually it's supposed to be sweet but I know you don't like sweets." I shrugged as I grabbed a piece of the French toast with my fingers.
He glared up at me.
"What?" I asked.
"You just peaked on my food...."
I grinned. "I made it, fool; I get the right to do so."
He smirked and shook his head.
Sasuke had been out of the hospital for a while now and, as I had promised Itachi, I've been training him. The best way I could which was pushing him to my level.
We didn't really fight no more but...there was this problem I had. I couldn't see him in the eye. He noticed. I know that well but he doesn't say anything of the matter.
Whenever I accidentally do see him in the eye ugly flashbacks hit me like a truck. But I can live with that. Once again I can live with everything as long as I can save Itachi and so many others I cared for.
"Oh, Maiko." Sasuke started.
I looked at him, my gaze on his lips as he talked.
"Mhm?" I nodded with a mouthful of ramen.
"Tsunade told me you had this mission. And, well she told me I could go with you....if-if you want me to you know."
I smiled. He's shy!
"Are you strong enough to go?" I asked him, my voice serious.
He tried to catch my eyes with his but he gave and stood quiet for a while.
"I am. I'm strong enough to protect you on any mission. I am."
I smiled then cooed. "Aw...that's my big boy!"
He smiled and looked up in embarrassment. "So am I going or not?" He said in a more mature voice.
"Sure but you have to understand that we're going after a Naruto, a future Sakura and another me. I swear that boy is obsessed with killing."
He raised his eyebrow. "And you're going after them to...kill them?"
My head snapped as I turned and glared into his eyes, ignoring the flashbacks.
"NO..." I said through clenched teeth.
He sighed as he looked away from me. "I'm sorry. But-but stop glaring at me like that please. It-it scares me."
I relaxed a little. "They're...old friends I guess for you they're future friends. You met one already."
He looked back and frowned. "Who?"
"Red-headed girl with glasses. She was rescued by this emo kid in the Chuunin Exams...from a giant twenty feet tall bear?"
He smiled. "Yeah that girl..."
I raised my eyebrows. "You liked her! You fancy Karin! Oh my God!"
He smirked. "Jealous?"
"Are you kidding? She's going to LOVE this!"
He growled. "I don't FANCY her. I was joking."
I steadied myself. "You have to stop doing that. Getting mad whenever I do something you don't expect." I said getting our plates and stomping to the kitchen.
"I really don't see your problem."
I heard a swoosh in the air as my hair blew. I turned and I was looking right at him, just in front of me.
"MY problem? No, Maiko, it’s THE problem."
I tried to look away from his eyes but he held my chin.
"What's that?" My voice sounded soft, almost a whisper.
"That I fancy you...not that Karin. Not Sakura, ugh...none of the fan girls either...you. Only you."
I held my gaze into his eyes for a while it was weird thing...the flashbacks were different now. I saw him. Well us...
He leaned over and I held my breath. I instantly moved my head and he planted his lips on my neck instead. He sighed as he stepped back.
I scurried from him and he reached out for my hand but I flinched my hand from him.
"Maiko, I-"
I hurried out of his house and ran away.
