As prince Ben walked trough the halls of Auradon, he kept stopping to ask students if they'd seen his good friend.

Being met with a bunch of 'no's' and some 'not today's,' the prince sighed softly. He knew that if Mila didn't want to be found, she simply wouldn't be.

He came to a sudden halt when he heard a ventlation shaft be opened behind him. As he turned around, he came face to face with Mila, the daughter of the infamous dragon Mushu.

She was dusting some dirt from her shirt and jeans before she turned to him. "Hiya Benny-boo, I heard you were looking for me."

Ben looked at with an amused smile. "What kind of trouble were you up to this time?"

Mila gasped dramatically, placing a hand on her heart. "Me? Trouble? Sugarcube, you wound me."

Ben merely raised an eyebrow, causing Mila to start laughing. "Just a harmless prank on Chad, nothing to worry about."

He knew the son of Cinderella would not agree with the 'harmless' part, but the worst Mila had ever done to him was filling his locker with confetti.

"I need your advice for something, considering you are going to be part of my court," Ben chuckled slightly as Mila pulled a face. He knew the girl wasn't impressed by formal things and preferred to hang back and do her own thing.

But when he asked her to become his right hand and advisor once he becomes king, she didn't have the heart to say no. The young dragon just hoped she'd grow into the role over time.

As for why she became Ben's future advisor, the answer is rather easy.

Ben and Mila were friends ever since they were in the diapers. Mila's father often travelled and once she became of school age, she could no longer join him. Now, this didn't effect her relationship with her father much. Mila adored and idolised Mushu, his wit and humor passed on to her, which Mila used to play pranks on the childeren she considered snobby.

But she needed a place to stay when Mushu was away, and the dragon turned to the king and queen of Auradon. Belle had immediately agreed, welcoming the young girl with open arms as she grew up alongside Ben.

The two were quite different but brought out the best in one another. Opposites attract, as they'd say.

While Mila was the troublesome and clingy kid with a bratty side, Ben was the quiet and reserved kid, who had trouble showing his backbone. Ben was the calm to Mila's fire while she was the courage to stick to his ideals.

It was rare to not see them together, and that didn't change when they started puberty.

"Okay, shoot." Mila said, crossing her arms over her chest, getting Ben's head out of the clouds.

Ben took a deep breath, meeting Mila's eyes. "I want to give the childeren on the Isle of the Lost a chance."

"A chance for what?" Mila asked cautiously. She knew Ben had the tendecy to see good in people, even if it wasn't really there. In that regard Mila could be judgemental, something she didn't like about herself.

"To live in Auradon, they don't deserve to be punished for their parents actions." Ben said, smiling hesitantly, considering Mila's questioning eyes.

"And what if they murder us while they're at it? I can't exactly imagine villains raising their kids to be well... ," Mila trailed off, looking at Ben's hopeful eyes. "Morally decent."

"Then we introduce a new class," Ben suggested, Mila sighing heavily at the suggestion. "I'm serious about this, Mila."

"I know you are but so am I, you can't just open the barrier out of nowhere," the dragon sighed, throwing her hands up in the air in frustration.
