"Are you sure I'm the right person for this?" Mila questioned her blue haired friend.
"Positive," Evie smiled as the two of them walked trough the streets of the Isle of the Lost. "Who else would I bring along?"
"Your boyfriend," Mila smirked, raising an eyebrow as Evie blushed.
The blue haired princess playfully gared at her, shaking her head. "As much as I love Doug, I'm not exactly sure if introducing him to my mother would be the best thing. Considering our parents," she mumbled.
Mila nudged her gently. "Well they're gonna have to at some point, right?"
"Yeah, I suppose. Just... not today, okay?" Evie smiled slightly as they arrived at her old home.
"Whatever suits you best, sugarcube," Mila shrugged as Evie knocked on the door of the old castle.
It looked a lot better than it did last time Evie went to her mother's home. Less gaps in the wall and it has been painted over, leaving barely any of the original chips visible.
The door swung open dramatically, the Evil Queen appearing in the doorway, wearing one of the deep purple dresses Evie had sent to her mother.
Much to Mila's suprise, EQ hugged Evie tightly, gushing about what a gorgeous woman her daughter had become.
Evie smiled brightly as she pulled away from her mother's hug, still holding her arms. "I figured it was about time I visited again."
"And I appreciate you do," EQ said with a small smile, brushing some of Evie's hair away from her face. The former Queen turned to Mila, frowning slightly. "And who's this?"
Evie linked her arm with Mila's, smiling at her mother. "This is my good friend, Mila. The one I'm currently working on the reform center with."
"Ah, right," EQ nodded slightly, ushering them inside, stating that too much sunlight was bad or her skin.
The two girls chuckled softly, Evie staring around in amazement at how much the castle had changed.
"You must have been working hard," She noticed, but the EQ shook her head.
"Oh no, there's this... Auradon kid, who apparently tried to take over the kingdom or something, who's working quite hard. Her makeup is wonderful, by the way. She could do with some more blush but who am I to talk?" The queen shrugged, sitting down on a lavish loveseat.
Mila chuckled at the thought of Audrey running around the castle, trying her best to help out.
There was no denying that the princess was working hard to redeem herself, she had gotten many reports from people on the Isle that the princess tried her best to help with whatever she could, whether it be cooking or sewing, or painting buildings or doing grocery shopping for people.
"I see, that's good," Evie smiled, sitting down on the couch across from her mother. "So, are you planning on joining the reforming center?"
The Evil Queen sighed loudly, apparently having sensed this question coming. "I figured you would come to ask about that. You never visit just for the sake of visiting." She said dramatically.
Mila glared at the sentence, knowing fully well Evie visited her mother two weeks ago to help her rebuild the collapsed wardrobe.
Evie sat up a little straighter, used to her mother's small guilt trips and knowing perfectly how to navigate them. "Mother, you're avoiding the question. Would you not like to join me in Auradon?"
"And have to walk the same dirt as that little brat Snow White? No thank you," The queen huffed, turning her face away in disgust, as if simply saying the name would make the Fairest of them All suddenly appear in her living room.
