Peter's POV Wednesday 9:30 AM
"I have to tell you something, but you can't tell anyone. Not even Tony." Aria quietly tells him. Taking sips of their water as they leave the training room after they'd just finished a hard training session and were taking a breather before their run. She glances around to make sure they aren't overheard. Having missed breakfast with him she had met him in the gym. The second he saw her Peter could tell Aria had been bursting to tell him something important ever since she walked in an hour ago, but he waited for her to bring it up. In all of their time together he’d learned very quickly to give her the opportunity to talk rather than hound her about it. She was slowly coming out of the mindset of keeping everything to herself, outside of Dr Kent that is and he put that down as to her trusting him. If you couldn’t trust someone there was no way you’d ever be able or willing to open up to them. So Aria wanting to share a secret with him out of everyone made his chest puff up a bit.
Her casting furtive glances at the people walking past them had him worried that maybe some of the agents who didn't really like her were talking about her behind her back again. On the defensive on her behalf, Peter gave them a mild glare before giving his friend his full attention. "You can tell me anything, Ari. What's going on?"
She bites her lip, but releases it a second later with a blush. His eyes widened in surprise at her reaction; he could only guess at what she's thinking. Clearly not about jerky coworkers. "Well, you see.." Aria had started to talk though some more agents walked past them on their way to the training room and gyms. Tugging on his arm to lead him to the elevators so they could have some privacy she pressed the button to go up to the main floor. Watching her warily Peter steps back to lean against the wall and motions for her talk. Nodding Aria takes a breath and says, "I'm going on a date with Bucky tonight."
Standing up straight he grins. He knew it! Peter had been confident that his ship was about to come true and she just confirmed it. Winter Sparrow was happening! Unable to contain his excitement Peter held up his hand to high-five her, being mindful to not hurt her. "That's great! When did he ask you or did you ask him?" He had a hundred questions, but knew better than to overdo it which would have her tell him to shut his trap and then he’d have to wait even longer for the details.
He had seen how close she and Bucky had gotten over the last month, but he'd been worried for a second that something was going on with Steve. Not that she couldn't date him or anything. It was just that he thought Bucky was a better fit for Aria. So when she kissed Steve's cheek and cuddled with him in Aria fashion when she wasn't playing video games last night he’d been confused by the turn around. Last he knew, she was still not over being angry at him and then there she was like nothing had happened. But then she blushed when Bucky kissed her cheek before he took off to play with Natasha and his confusion only grew. There hadn’t been any time or privacy to question her last night about it so now that she was willing he needed to know everything.
Laughing, Aria holds up her hands for him to relax a little. "I'm not done. Chill, webhead." His smile only grows at her nickname for him and motions for her to continue. Thinking she was going to tell him how Bucky asked her out, she shocks him when she says, "When Steve comes back from his mission I'll be going on a date with him too."
His smile disappears as his mind blanks. Did his ears just glitch? It sounded like she said she was going to go on a date with Steve Rogers. "Wait, what?"
Didn't she still hate him? What had he missed since he last saw her on Tuesday when she and Bucky went to get tacos and game night?
Worrying at her bottom lip Aria starts to pace in the tight space of the elevator while she explains. "I like them both. Shocking, I know.” She says with a grimace of a smile. “I realized the night before that my feelings for Steve changed in a big way over the last couple of weeks. That's why I made an appointment yesterday morning with Dr Kent to talk it out. Then I almost ruined it all by freaking out. But I told them everything about how I felt about them before game night. Then Bucky suggested that I date both of them and so that's what I'm doing. Well, trying to do. I'm excited, but a little nauseous. I've never been on a date before. Let alone dating two men at the same time. Natasha knows because I let it slip, but I'm sure Steve would have told her since she's his closest friend besides Bucky." She stops and takes a deep breath. Aria kind of deflates like a balloon once she gets it all out.
