Scarlet and Ghostbur trudged through the rough winter air, well ghostbur floated to avoid touching the snow that burned his body. Scarlet still wasn't sure what Ghostbur was and she was convinced he wasn't human.
"So Snow and Water burn you when you come in contact with it? That seems really hard. What do you do when it rains?" Scarlet asked, picking her knees up higher to attempt to make the walking easier. The snow was almost up to her calves.
"Oh! Usually someone nearby lets me inside their home for a bit, like Philza or Techno. Friend stays outside normally. Sometimes I just have to stand under a tree until it stops." He responded so nonshalontly. That seemed like such a hard way to live, and she was starting to think he wasn't always like this. The way he looked so sad at times before quickly grabbing the blue he kept in various places. Something must have happened to make him like this, and she figured it was safe to assume it wasn't a good thing.
"Scarlet B Luvios we are here! Technos lovely cabin!" He said flying quicker towards the small building made of natural wood and some other material that looked much stronger and harder.
"Ghostbur I've told you to call me Scarlet. My full name is unnecessary." She said smiling and running as fast as she could through the snow while leading her pig. He was much lighter so he didn't struggle with sinking into the snow like she did. Ghostbur tied Friend to a pole and Scarlet copied him, figuring if a sheep wasn't allowed inside neither was her pig.
Ghostbur went to grab the girl's hand out of excitement, only for it to go right through hers. His face seemed to fall for a second before he remembered he can't touch humans. He cliched some blue before smiling again and motioning for Scarlet to follow him up the stairs. She did so quickly, starting to feel her feet go numb and her fingers starting to tingle from frostbite. The End was never cold, or hot actually. It was almost like a muggy middle ground of temperature. So this cold was definitely not sitting well with the child.
"Techno! Tech-no-blade! It's Ghostbur! I've brought a friend to meet you!" Ghostbur said, knocking loudly on the door in front of them.
"Ghostbur, I've already told you, I don't need to meet every animal you befriend." A loud gravely voice boomed from inside the home. The door opened and suddenly there was a half man half pig looking person looking down at the young girl.
Scarlet immediately felt the voice's volume increase tenfold. She held her head and looked up to him almost with pleading eyes. They were laughing and shouting so many things of conflict in her mind. They echoed in her ears "BLOOD GOD" "SAVIOR" "MURDER" "HOME HOME HOME..." In loud excited voices. Then there were the ones that seemed scared saying, "Run!" "Orphan go!" "Blood God Kill Orphan." That last one seemed to stand out the most. She didn't know whether it was because it sounded threatening or because the voice was just louder, but she heard it loud and clear.
"Ghostbur, why is there a child in distress on my porch?" The man said, stepping closer to the girl, who stepped back in fear.
"She said something about voices telling her to find you! You hear voices too right, Techno?" the ghost responded as cheerful as ever.
Techno's eyes widened and he looked back to Scarlet who was now on her knees with her head in between her legs. These voices seemed to be getting louder and at this point she almost felt her own presence getting pushed to the back of her mind. She started to just release control and the voices seemed to fade away. In reality she was standing up smiling and her eyes went from purple to red. Scarlet had given control to the voices and now all she could see was red shapes.
"Hey, kid. Common now, get control back. These voices are pesky things, but if you give them the power they want then they'll never go away." The Blade said walking up to the girl standing slouched over breathing heavily.
Scarlet could hear him encouraging her to regain access, but she almost didn't want to. The quiet seemed much nicer than having to face the dreaded voices again. She almost felt relaxed enough to take a nap for the first time since she woke up in the nether. Just as she started closing her eyes she felt something being splashed on her and her eyes flew open, but everything was back to normal. She didn't see in red anymore, and the voices seemed to have calmed down.
"Philza Minecraft, you absolute legend. Just in time old friend" Techno said walking behind the little girl and patting the man on the back. Scarlet slowly turned around to face both of them, definitely overwhelmed now if she wasn't already before.
"Mate, I've been helping you with these voices since you were a youngin. It's no problem, but who is she?" Phil asked, lowering his voice towards the end of the sentence.
Scarlet scoffed and rolled her eyes a bit. They have both asked who she was without deliberately asking her. If they really wanted to know then maybe asking her would get them the answer. Ghostbur was off frolicking with Friend, completely getting distracted.
"Well 'She' is standing right here, and can answer if you ask them instead of asking everyone else." She responded while mumbling profanities that she picked up from the short time she spent with Tommy.
"Jesus Christ! They sounds like Toms!" Phil said, laughing, walking past them both and holding the door open, motioning the girl to go inside. "Technos not one for hospitality, get inside, It's freezing out here."
Scarlet looks between Techno and Philza, wondering if the one would stop her. Instead he tilted his head and held out his hand in a motion for them to move inside. "Common Ghostbur! It's probably going to start snowing soon. Let's get inside." He said instead of speaking to the girl.
Scarlet scoffed and walked inside smiling at Philza, "Scarlet, My name is Scarlet." she said softly to him before walking over to the fire. She held her hands over the flames, waiting for the feeling to return to them. They were suddenly very aware of the shiver and chatter of their teeth. Techno walked in after getting Ghostbur away from friend, and hung his cape up on the rack by the door. Scarlet was staring at the enderman trapped in a boat in the corner of the house with a curious look. The mob looked directly into Scarlet's purple eyes, but did not freak out like he would have with any other person. These monsters even spaz out if Ghostbur looks at them funny.
Phil looked between the girl and the Endermen with curious eyes before turning to Techno, who was already looking at Philza with the Axe of Peace in his hands. "Mate put that away. She's a child. She looks to be no older than Tommyinnit. You can't hurt them for being different. How about we ask questions and get some answers first, right?"
