"What exactly are you looking at? I asked why you are late for prep and you are busy staring, " Raphael says. April could not contain her embarrassment. She was openly drooling, and now she had been caught. The look Science and Dumlesi gave her was not amusing at all. Jordan fixed his intense gaze on her. She did not dare to look in his direction.
"She is dumb!" Goriola speaks, while Wealth and Raphael laugh. The only people who were not laughing were Jordan, Science, and Dumlesi. April knew the only reason Dumlesi was not laughing was the cramped space they were in.
"Science, do you realize what you did is wrong? This is twenty-five minutes past prep time!" Jordan responds with a raised eyebrow. Meanwhile, April silently hoped that no one would hear her heartbeat. Jordan's voice made her extremely uncomfortable.
"Senior, it will not happen again," Science says quietly, while Jordan scoffs.
"That senior sounds strange coming from you!" He smiles, and Science returns the smile. " Raphael, please pardon them for my sake!" Jordan pleaded. April could see the supposed Raphael glare.
"Please let them go!" Wealth says, smirking. "Before the dumb one cries," he adds. April could not help but hate him at that point. She was also unable to lift her face. She could also feel Goriola's intense gaze on her.
"Wealth, let her be na," Jordan says to Wealth, who is trying to suppress his laughter.
"You girls can leave, but you know what I can do. Do not make this mistake again, and thank Jordan because without his intervention...., "
"Raphael, leave the long sermon; you people can leave!" Wealth cuts Raphael off, laughing. Meanwhile, April wonders what amused him. Before leaving, they all mumble "thank you."

April places her note on the desk in silence. It was quiet in the hall. It was unclear to her whether or not each person was reading. But their books appeared to be their focus. The majority of the senior girls were on patrol. She was aware that they were trying to find faulters. Squeezing her eyes shut, she tries to remember everything that has happened since she returned.
She draws in a long breath. and lets her eyes open. She chose to ignore Dumlesi even though she could tell she was trying to say something. The girl had caused her numerous inconveniences since she resumed. She knew most friends could distract you and cause you to fall behind in your studies, and Dumlesi was already displaying such threats.
April ponders, in silence, whether her selection of friends was adequate. She could not afford to get distracted. She needed the scholarship and the foundation.

April smiled as she silently watched Dumlesi rush through her meal. Science has been rolling her eyes ever since.
She thought both girls were overly dramatic. They were up early today, thanks to Nancy. April was surprised. She knew Science was as well. They had to go over to Dumlesi's room to wake her up. April recalls bumping into Wendy, who did not appear to notice her. She seemed to be in a hurry.
Nancy left for school early as usual. April was left wondering what she was doing at school so early. They all stayed at the hostel. So even if she did not leave so early. She will not be that late.
April eats consciously. They were served. Bread, tea, and moimoi. Unlike on the first day, she met a variety of food. She wondered if it was because it was breakfast. But their food was good; most of her churchmates who went to boarding schools complained about the tasteless food. But she would gladly give credit to Hallel Colledge's cooks.
