"Has she been taking medications?" Aunty Nkiru asks directly to Wunmi.
April didn't know her mum had such relatives, who looked well to do, her mum's cousin Uncle Mark came alongside his wife and mother. They came in a range rover, and they didn't look poor. They might not be very rich, but at least they looked like they could fit in some positions perfectly. She silently prayed they helped her mother.
"She did go to a general hospital once, she came back with drugs, but since it finished she hasn't gone again, due to the fact we have no money," Wunmi says. Meanwhile April who had no idea that her mum went to the clinic, watched them without uttering a word.
"This is serious. She didn't tell anyone. We will take her along with us." Uncle Mark says.
"Why don't we take her to the village?" The old lady was introduced to April as her mum's aunt suggests. Meanwhile, April stares at her wondering if she understood how severe this was. They should be talking about taking her to the hospital, not the village.
"I think that's the right thing to do, your mum is right." Aunty Nkiru says directly to her husband. "We should try treating her traditionally, if it doesn't work we can try the hospital." She suggests.
"Wunmi, prepare her things."

"I asked you specifically not to come out of your room," Monica says immediately she sights Wendy who walked into the kitchen in a carefree manner.
"I was hungry!" Wendy respond clearly not losing eye contact with her mother, the fact their cook was present wasn't helping matters.
"That's the only thing to know how to do, why won't you add weight? After coming second best and overall, you still have the mouth to demand for my food. Wendy, you should be crying." Monica says not minding how loud her voice was. "You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Now go back to that, don't come out till I tell you to, Tessa will bring your food over to your bedroom." Monica says without sympathy.
"I want to go stay with my Dad," Wendy says trying her best to keep a straight face.
"Wendy, if you don't leave my presence. I will so deal with you. Now, I will turn into a laughing stock in the presence of Boma. I am sure Ibinabor has told her about your results." Monica says with anger visible on her face.
"I want to go stay with my Dad," Wendy says allowing the tears to flow freely.
"In your wildest dream, you won't even see his shadow. Since you want me to treat you with an iron fist, your father has spoilt you." Monica says while she moves towards Wendy's direction, making Wendy hasten her step on impulse, she continues moving back until she bumps into someone by mistake. Quickly turning around to see who it was, her eyes bulge out.
"Clara!" Monica calls out the in a calm tone, making Wendy wonder how she could switch moods so easily.
"Aunt Monica!" Clara calls out while she runs to her aunt and hugs her. Meanwhile, Wendy watches the both of them without uttering a word. After they were done exchanging pleasantries, she turns to Wendy.
"Hi!" She waves.
"Hi," Wendy says and walks out of the kitchen almost immediately. Making Clara turn to Monica obviously wondering what was wrong.
"You know how she could be most times!" Monica says like she had read her thoughts.
"You came alone?" Monica asks taking a good look at her niece."Yes!" Clara responds quite excited.
