Soda's POV

I walked down the path to my truck whistling. The sun was bright and the air was warm, everything seemed so alive. I grinned when I looked in the reflection, my eyes were alive and sparkling. Lordy, I haven't been this happy since...lord, since mom and dad were alive. I took a deep breath as I thought about things. I thought while I drove down the quiet, dusty road, everything was okay. Pony was back and Johnny wasn't hurt, but I was upset about Dally. Me and Dally were buddies, or we used to be...I didn't know what to do about that. I loved Bree too much to give her up, and no way in the almighty universe is he gonna take her from me. I suddered visibilly when I thought about the look in Bree's eyes when he called her a whore, she didn't do nothin to deserve that. I sighed happily when I thought about Bree, her eyes that were warm and caring but could change to cold and unfeeling in a second. The way she looked when she was fighting, her muscles tense, her eyes calculating, she was just perfect. I smiled as I pulled into the DX, I could't wait until my break so I could see her.

Two hours later

Dear lord, I never thought two hours could pass so dang slow. We didn't have many customers today, which wasn't unusal for a Saturday, but finially I see her walk up. My heart speeds up in anticipation, I haven't seen her since this morning, and it feels like its been forever. The radio started playing "Girl." By the Beatles. If that wasn't applicable I don't know what is. She walks in and smiles in that way that makes me want to kiss her and never stop. I restrain myself to just a smirk.

"Can I help you?" I ask her teasingly.

"Yeah I need a present for my boyfriend, what do you reccomend." She said nonchalently.

"Boyfriend?" My heart soared

"Yeah, maybe you know him, he works here." She says matter-of-factly

" Really? What's his name?" I asked, unable to restrain my cheesy grin.

" Sodapop Curtis." She said, smirking.

I just smiled and picked her up and spun her around kissing her as the song continued playing on the radio. Words can't describe what it felt like to have her soft, perfect lips against mine, as soon as I kissed her, there were these unmistakable sparks, she smiled and I knew she felt them too. I cradle her to me, for a split second I was terrified she would leave me. As if she could read my thoughts, she reach up to run my fingers through my hair, the guesture was enough to make my insecurities quiet. I smile and hold her tightly. I loved her, I was head over heals in love with her. I think I couldn't survive if she left. I loved her, I realized, terrified. She could destroy me and hurt me, but she was the only thing that could make me feel alive.

" I love you." I blurted out, without thinking, Great, here comes the rejection. I flinched, ready for the rejetion and harsh words. She placed her hand softly on my cheek and turned me where her emrald green eyes pierced my blue ones. She spoke slowly, her voice soft. When the words made it out of her lips, I couldn't believe them, they were to good to be true.

" I love you too, Soda." She said softly, I was stunned. There was no way I heard her correctly.

" Did you just say-" I say, she interupts my fretting with an earth shattering kiss. It was passionate and full of love.

" My little Soda's growin up on me." Steve said, with fake tears.

"Aw shut up, Steve." I said, grinning

He walked up to Bree and said " Take care of my little boy." Steve said, fake sniffling before just bursting out laughing. Bree laughed and so did I. Lord, things can't get any better. I cradle my girl closer to me. I sigh and burry my face into her hair and breathe in her intoxicating scent. She smelt like roses and lilac...I can't ever focus when she is around, but thats okay. I smile and kiss her again, nothing can touch us now.

Or so I thought....
