Couple of days went by, Johnny and Pony were all over the paper, I even saved one just so I would have something if I was foced back to my world. Dally was dragged into the station, with a few cool awnsers and a false lead, the cops were off Johnny's and Pony's trail. I shook my head in amazement when Dally walked out.

"That'll keep them busy." He muttered to no one in particular

I just stare at him in amazement, before he said "Lets go see the gang."

I nodded slowly before getting in his car.

"You're awful quiet.." He acknologed,  looking at me

I didn't say anything, I just didn't know what to say.

"Come on babe, just talk to me." He pleaded, pulling over.

"I'm scared." I said, my voice shaking

"Oh, babe..." He said, pulling me into his chest, gently stroking my hair.

"It'll be okay..." He whispered as soothingly as he could

"They're  gonna be crushed." I wimpered

He seemed to consider this before just hugging me and gently kissing my head.  I wasn't looking forward to seeing the gang, Pony's brothers being hurt and the whole gang, hurt because of Johnny and Pony. I felt terrible.

It didnt take long to get there. The familar white house with the metal gates around it. We pulled into the driveway, where a red truck was parked along with Two- Bits car, Steve, I knew was there as well for Sodapop. I sigh and walk in.

The whole gang was on the couch, all looking exausted  and upset. Darry's head was in his hands and he was muttering over and over "I hit him, its all my fault." Sodapops eyes were red and puffy, it was obvious he had been crying. Steve looked up and made some attempt at a smile.

"Hey Dal." He said, trying to smile a little, but failing.

Soda looked up and saw me and smiled a little, wiping his nose on his shirt sleeve.

"Hey Bree." He said, smiling something like his usual smile.

I sat down beside him, Dally sat beside me. I hugged him, I layed my head on Dally's sholder as everything continued in a non-normal silence, that silence, however, was deafining. Soda had written a note to Pony and handed it to Dally, with his whole months paycheck. When no one else was looking or paying attention he whispered "I know you know where he is, Dal, you don't have to tell me , just give this to him, will ya?" Soda said, sighing.

I take a deep breath and try not to look in the depths of his dark blue eyes, knowing if I did, I would tell him everything.

Dall's eyes flickered with slight indecision, before just nodding and walking back to the car. I followed behind.

"Let's go see our favorite outlaws." Dally muttered low.

"You're right here." I said, grinning, trying to lighten the somber mood

"You dig okay, baby" He said, his grin spreading up to a full out smirk.

I smile and blush

"You're even prettier when you blush." He commented, making me blush more.

He kissed me lightly on the cheek, I smiled and shivered lightly because it was a little windy and the air was cold. He shrugged off his dark blue denium jacket and handed it to me. I pulled it over my sholders and quickly putting on. He smiled at me in his jacket.

"You look cute in my jacket." He stated, as we pull into the church.

I blush and walk in. Geez when he said abbandoned I didnt picture it like this...I could never spend a night here. I saw Pony asleep in a pew and I just had to crack up at his hair...it was short and...blond. Dally laughed a little at him as he sleepily woke up.

"Aw, hush up Dal, I know I look lousy." He groaned.

"Yeah, yeah come on sleeping beauty get up." Dally muttered

Ponyboy muttered somehting under his breath but complied.

"Your brother sent you something, must be pretty important, gave me his whole months salary to deliver it to you." Dally said, nonchalently

Ponyboy quickly took it and ripped it open and read it atleast three times, maybe more. He sighed and stuffed it in his back pocket.

"Y'all hungry?" Dally questioned, they both hastedly agreed that they were starving, which I could believe, they both looked like they atleast had dropped ten pounds.

We all got back in the car and drove out to Dairy Queen and got sandwiched and icecream. They were eating like it was their last meal ever.

"Geez, guys, slow down, dont get sick on me." Dally told them.

They tried to slow down as much as possible.

"Oh, I didnt tell ya, we got ourselves a spy." Dally said

"Who?" Johnny and Pony said at the same time.

"That red head...uh..Cherry somethin." Dally said.

"Cherry Valence?!" Pony said in disbelief.

"Yeah, her." Dally didnt elaborate any further.

We all were finially done eating, we were driving down to the church, when Johnny said he was going to turn himself in.

I thought Dally was going to have heart failure. Johnny tried to explain before Dally yelled at Johnny. Johnny flinched and tried not to cry in the back seat.

"Johnny, Im not mad, It's just I know what prison does to you, man, and I dont want that to happen to you." Dally said in a pleading voice

Johnny was right about to say something when we all saw smoke coming from the church followed by a loud scream "Jerry, some of the kids are missing."

The man, Jerry, said They might have wondered off into the woods...lets not jump to conclusions."

Then there was a few screams from inside the church. I got up and ran, pony and Johnny behind me.

The heat was intense and the church was crumpling around us. I grabbed a kid and handed her to Johnny, he broke the boards off the window before handing her to Dally followed by the next kid followed by the next before they all were out. I pushed Johnny and Pony out before the beam broke.Dally ran in there and grabbed my hand to pull me out and the beam fell on our intertwined fingers, making us both scream in pain. Dally didnt stop for too long before dragging me out.
