Chapter 82

Previously on Chapter 81

"I know you're still hurting. But please... give me a chance... let me be your rebound, Y/N..." he said. I just stare at him. He slowly leans down, placing his forehead against mine. "Please..." he begged.

What should I do?

Y/N P.O.V

I stay silent, not knowing what to say. Draco holds my hands close to his chest as he looks pleadingly at me. I can see that he's being sincere, that he truly do love me. But am I ready to open my heart... after all, I've just lost Cedric.

Then I remind myself... I have to move on. But can I accept Draco like I accept Cedric? It just seems not fair if I let Draco become my rebound. What if in the end, I can't let my past feelings for Cedric go... that'll surely crush his heart.

"Please, Y/N... please give me a chance. Let me be your rebound" he said, in a pleading tone. I look down at what he said. I let out a sigh and looks up at him once again.

"Draco... I'm sure you're aware what it means of being someone's rebound. There are no guarantee that I will open my heart completely for you. I'm just not ready. Not after I've just lost Cedric... let's say... my heart do heal. There's no guarantee that it stays with you. I could possibly fall for someone else. If that happens... you'll be hurt..." I said.

He nods his head. "I know... I'll take the risk... I just wanna be with you. Let me be with you. Let me show you how much I love you, Y/N" he said, in a serious tone.

"Draco..." I said. "Please?" He said. I bit my lips as I stare into his eyes. He stares back at me. I notice he is glancing my lips. He leans down slowly. When he notice that I'm not moving. He closes the gap. I just let my eyes flutter close when I feel a soft pressure on my lips. He wraps his arms around my waist. I slowly wrap my arms around his neck. He pulls me closer as he kisses me gently and passionately.

I pull away for air, he just leans his forehead against mine. "Will you accept me?" He said, in a hush tone. I stare into his eyes. I close my eyes and let out a soft sigh, still breathless from the kiss.

"Okay..." I said. A wide grin appear on his lips. He pulls away completely and smiles happily at me. I squeal in fright when he picks me up and starts to twirl around in circle.

He places me back on my feet and cups my cheeks softly in his hands. "You have no idea how happy I am right now. I promise you, I'm going to heal your heart..." he said. I just smile at him. He grins at me and pulls me close.

"Thank you, Y/N..." he said. I slowly wrap my arms around his torso, leaning my head against his chest. He runs his hand through my hair softly. I can hear his heart beating at a steady pace. It's comforting to hear.

"Um... we should probably go... I'm sure it's late..." I said, pulling away from him. "You're right. Will you stay at Slytherin with me?" He said, looking at me. I nod my head. "Okay..." I said. "Come on then... let's go..." he said. He holds my hand gently and we walk out of the Room of Requirements.

It's quite dark outside just as we've anticipated. We slowly walk through the hallway, trying our best to not get caught by Mr. Filch or his cat. We don't want to be in trouble.

At Slytherin House

After a while of walking, we finally reach the house. Draco said the password and the portrait moves. He turns to me and allows me to enter first. Then he get inside as well.

We walk until and stand by the staircase which leads to different sections of the house. Right section for the girls and left for the boys. He still have my hand in his as he stops walking.

I turn to look at him. He smiles at me as he take a step closer. He lift his hand, tucking a strand piece of hair behind my ear. He cups my cheek softly in his hand.

"I know it's too soon to say this... but I love you, Y/N..." he said. I smile and open my mouth. But I can't say it back. He notices this and place his finger on my lips.

"Don't force yourself. I'll wait for as long as it'll take" he said, smiling softly at me. "Thank you, Draco. For being so understanding..." I said. "Anything for you, love..." he said. I smile softly at him. He smiles back in return. He leans down and place a soft peck on my lips. Then on my forehead.

"See you tomorrow... goodnight, love. Have a sweet dream..." he said. "See you tomorrow, Draco... you too" I said. He smiles once again and turns around. He turns to me one last time, waving at me. I wave back at him and head towards the girl's side of the house.

I enter my room and leans my back against the door. I stare at the ceiling. I place my finger on my lips as I recall what happened. Draco and I shared a kiss and he somehow manage to convince me to give him a chance. Which means, he's now my boyfriend.

"Oh... Merlin. What happened to my life? First, it's Cedric... now Draco. Please don't make me regret this decision. I don't want to break Draco's heart. I don't even know if I'm able to open my heart after what happened with Cedric..." I said to myself. I let out a sigh and shakes my head.

I make my way to my wardrobe and pick out a pair of pajamas. Then I make my way to the washroom to prepare myself for bed. I wash my face, and freshen up.

Once I'm done, I put on my pajamas and head back to my room. I let myself fall on the bed. I pull the blanket up to my neck, just below my chin. I place my hands behind my head and stare at the ceiling.

Draco... did I make a right decision to accept you? What if I ended up hurting you. What if my heart heal... but I ended up falling for someone who's not you. What will you do?

I know he told me he's aware of the risk of being a  rebound for someone with a broken heart. But even so, he's still persistence on wanting to be with me.

I yawn softly. I turn to my side, pulling my blanket closer to myself. I take off the eyepatch that I wear again as we're about to leave the Room. I place it under my pillow to keep it safe, in case someone tries to take it. I slowly close my eyes and let myself drift off to sleep.

I really don't wanna break Draco's heart. He's been nothing but kind towards me... so I'll try my best to open my heart for him. I can only hope that I have made the right choice when I decided to accept him.
