I woke up wrapped in Keefe's armsWell, we both woke up to what sounded like an adult yelling.
I gasped and shot up, then ran to splash water on my face.
"Foster, what-" Keefe started to ask but I cut him off.
"I think our parents are here," I said and Keefe sat up with his eyes big.
I slowly opened the door and saw Grady, Alden, Kesler, and Cassius standing in the living room, yelling at Biana and Lihn.
"Shit" I muttered.
There was no way to get out of this one.
Unless there was.
I grabbed Keefe's hand and squeezed it tight, I had only done this a couple of other times so hopefully, it worked.
I concentrated on where I wanted to go and then felt Keefe and me floating through the void, then we were in the living room of the boy's hotel room.
Tam, Lihn, and Fitz were sitting in the living room
"Parents are here, get ready and meet in our room," I said quickly and then transported smoothly back to my room before any of the boys could ask questions.
This was bad.
This was very bad.
I smoothed my hair and took a deep breath before walking out of my room and out into the living room, where all eyes fell on me.
Two furious eyes in particular made me cringe in fear.
Grady looked away, almost as if he had to calm himself down before walking up to me,
"Come on." He said and placed his hand on my shoulder. "We're going home so I can yell at you in private." He said and started to pull out his pathfinder, but I back away from him.
"Look Grady, I know you're mad but-" I started to say but he cut me off.
"No! No buts, you ran away from home leaving nothing but a note! Do you know how scared we've been Sophie? We thought you all were dead, we thought that the neverseen found you. Did you even think before you decided to do something this stupid??" He exclaimed, losing any trace of calmness he came here with.
"All you left was a note, Sophie!" He said, and his voice broke.
I felt a lump in my throat now, I didn't even think about how bad this would affect our parents.
I looked around to see Biana trying to hold back tears with her father trying to keep his cool beside her. Lihn looked like she was the only one in the room with a level mind.
"Why didn't you just ask?" He asked desperately and I froze.
I didn't know the answer, I mean the obvious answer would be that 'you would say no'... but would he have? I mean, we didn't even try before we left.
I took a deep breath and looked to the floor.
"I'm sorry," I whispered, and Grady began to say something, but as he did, the boys walked in.
Cassius's eyes immediately went to Keefe and his face turned red in anger, but he didn't say or do anything. He needed to save face in public.
"Everyone needs to get their things, we are leaving now." Alden finally spoke up and nobody moved, we weren't sure whether to listen to him or not.
"Now!" He exclaimed, and we all scattered to our rooms.
Tears ran down my face as I shoved all my things into my suitcase. I wasn't crying because I wanted to stay, but because I knew how much trouble I was going to be in when I got home.
A lot of trouble.
Like never be able to talk to my friends again, kind of trouble.
When I was done, I headed out and walked over to Grady, who held out his hand for me to grab.
He didn't wait for anybody else before he transported us to our house. The first thing I saw was Edaline crying on the couch. She grabbed when she saw us, and then ran over to hug me.
I hugged her back and watched as Grady silently walked into the kitchen and poured himself a glass of water, probably preparing himself to scream at me.
"I'm sorry Eda, I didn't mean to hurt you," I said and she nodded, then cupped my face in her hands.
"I'm just glad your home." She said, then kissed my forehead before pulling me in again. "Grady is very upset with you and he might say some things he won't mean. Try to remember that he loves you and he thought he lost you." She whispered before pulling away and giving me a small smile.
I looked over to Grady who gestured to the stairs, so I followed him up the stairs. He led me into my own bedroom and took a deep breath.
"No going anywhere except school for a month," He said and I nodded. "Totally acceptable." I said he gave me a 'shut up' look. I bit my lip and looked to the floor.
"I've already taken your imparter and your leaping crystal indefinitely. I know you can still teleport and that's why you're going to wear a tracking bracelet that you can't cut off." He said and I eyed the broken registry pendant lying on my floor.
"I am going to use what little trust I have left in you to make sure you're not in contact with any of you're friends telepathically." He said I nodded, but felt tears prickle in my eyes. I don't know why I expected him to trust me after this, but it still hurt.
"One more thing." He said and I nodded.
What else could he take away?
"No more Keefe."
