Keefe's POV:

As soon as dad brought us back to candle shade, I knew I was fucked.

I tried to run up to my room, but he grabbed my arm forcefully.

"What the hell where you thinking? Idiot!" He yelled a I tried to pull away from him.

He was too strong, he had always been too strong to defend myself against him.

"After everything I do for you Keefe." He said and pushed me harshly into the wall.

"You don't do shit for me!" I yelled and wiped the tears from my eyes. "You're a shitty dad, and a shitty-" Before I could finish my sentence, he punched my hard. It hurt most on my left cheekbone

I bit my lip and tried to stop crying.

I needed to man up.

"I should've left sooner!" I yelled and hit him back, square in the nose.

I felt blood splatter, and I definitely did something to my hand, but all I could feel was relief.

God it felt so good to hurt him.

He grabbed his nose and swung at me, but missed.

I shook out my throbbing hand and tried to hit him again, but this time he grabbed my wrist, and threw me against the wall, hard enough to knock the wind out of me.

I tried to get it, but before I could, he had grabbed my collar and lifted me up.

He must have hit my face what felt like 20 times, everything felt broken and I could see blood dripping onto the carpet.

"Don't you ever hit me again, boy." He said calmly as he stood up, and left me crumbled on the ground.

He kicked me in the abdomen and I yelled out in pain, so he did it again.

The second time I stayed quite, pretended to pass out until the asshole walked away.

I slowly got up, and leaned onto the table. When I trued to walk, I fell over again.

The next thing I knew, I was laying on my bed, and Ro was sitting next to me with a wet towel in her hand.

"Hey kid." She said and dabbed my face. It stung and I winced in pain, but she didn't pull the towel away.

"I'm not even gonna be mad at you for running away right now, it looks like you got enough scolding for one night," She said and handed me a bottle of youth.

"Now, i'm no doctor, but I put some of those elfish remedies on your face. You have a split lip, a lot of bruising, some cuts, and a broken nose and cheek bone but I don't know how to fix those." She said as I downed the creamy liquid.

"Thank you, Ro." I said and she nodded. "I'm going to take you to Elwin in the morning because we wouldn't want any scars on that pretty face of yours." She laughed and got up from the bed.

I sat in bed staring at the ceiling, not knowing my next move.

Not knowing anything at all.

Except for that I needed to see Foster.
