"The never seen?" I asked and Forkle nodded.

"I thought they went back into hiding." Fitz argued.

"They came out of hiding, obviously."

We were interrupted by a knock at the door and it was opened to show Alden.

"Keefe" He said and walked up to me and then handed me a small glass bottle full of purple liquid. "I need you to take this"

"What is it?" I asked and opened the bottle, it smelled awful.

"Its a calming sedative to bring your nerves down. Oralie said you were grieving was too heavily." He said.

"I am not taking that, I'll wait until she's awake" I argued and Alden shook his head.

"Now, Keefe" He said and I sighed then downed the bottle and nearly gagged.

"Come lay down" He said and gestured for one of the medical beds.

I laid down and immediately passed out.

I was woken up a couple hours later by Sandor. He shook me once and I jumped up, almost hitting him in the face.

"She's awake, Mr. Sencen" He told me and I gasped, it had been around twelve hours, since it was pitch black out now.

I pushed past Gigantor and ran into Sophie's room, she was talking to Forkle. Grady and Edaline were holding on to her, and the rest of our friends were nowhere to be seen. Foster turned her head to see me when she heard the door open, I smiled and ran to her side, she laughed as I hugged her.

"You're okay!" I exclaimed and squeezed her as hard as I could without hurting her.

"I'm okay." Foster agreed and put her arms around me. I pulled away and looked at her beautiful face, tears were threatening to spill from my eyes.

"We'll give you some space." Edaline whispered and dragged Grady out of the room, Elwin and Forkle followed them.

"I thought I lost you, Foster." I told her after everyone else was gone. Foster blinked and tears trailed down her cheeks.

"I'm so glad you're okay. I don't know what I would do without you." I cried and hugged her again, she winced this time so I jumped back.

"It's fine, it's not that bad." She said and held out a hand, I took it and she pulled me towards her.

"I thought you were dead. When we found you in that cave..." I trailed off and Foster put one hand on my cheek.

"I'm here now, and I'm not leaving again." She told me and I wiped my eyes.

"Promise?" I asked and Foster smiled.

"I promise." She said and I laid down next to her, wrapping my arms around her. "Don't ever scare me like that again." I chuckled and she Foster smiled.

"I'll try." Foster chuckled and buried her head in my shoulder. I saw her cheeks turn red.

"I didn't know we were playing 'make Foster blush'." I smirked and Foster lifted her head to look at me, lifting her eyebrow.

"Apparently we're always actively playing that." She observed and I nodded.

"You're not wrong." I said and chuckled.

"What happened, Foster?" I asked and she sighed.

"Everybody keeps asking me that, and I don't know. All I remember is waking up in a cave, it was dark and there was a man. That's all I know." She told me and I nodded, I didn't want to push her, Forkle probably bombarded her with questions already.
