I rushed into my bedroom to find a panicking Edaline and Keefe lying lifeless on my bed.

Grady followed me into the room and we ran over to find Keefe not breathing.

"Elwin will be here soon" Grady assured us as he tried to check Keefe for wounds.

I held onto Keefe's hand as I willed for him to hang on.

He had to be okay.

Grady unbuttoned his tunic and pulled up his shirt to reveal awful bruising under his skin. He was bleeding internally.

"Where is Elwin?!" I shouted as Edaline started conjuring every elixer she could think of and laying them out.

Elwin walked in the door, not knowing what he was walking into.

He went ghostly white as he realized and ran over to Keefe. The Banshee on his shoulder started screeching, which made Iggy loose his mind.

Elwin began pouring Elixers down Keefe's throat and little by little the bruising started to go down, and so did the Banshee screams.

I didn't even realize I was in Edaline arms as I watch Elwin attempt to bring Keefe back to life.

She covered my eyes so I would stop looking at his lifeless body.

I tried to be strong as I counted the seconds until Elwin said something-anything.

237 seconds before he finally cleared his throat.

I looked to see Keefe still unresponsive on the bed.

"He's breathing, but sedated."

"Is he going to be okay?" Grady asked when I failed to say anything. I walked to Keefe's side and sat on the floor next to the bed, resting my face next to his and holding his hand.

"He should be just fine, but-"

There was always a 'but'.

I closed my eyes and waited for what I knew he was going to say.

"He was out for so long I don't know what is going to happen when he wakes."

I tried to hold back a sob as the words hit and Elwin excused himself from the room, most likely to cry himself.

"Call everyone please." I asked Grady through sobs as I crawled into the bed next to Keefe. He was breathing so lightly you could barely tell he was breathing at all.

Grady stepped out of the room to call everyone and Edaline rubbed my back.

She was crying too, and kept mumbling to herself about "As a parent" and "how could he" and "i couldn't imagine."

All I was focused on was Keefe's breathing, I matched mine with when his chest rose and fell. I tightened my grip on his cold hand between every breath.

Dex, the Vackers, and the twins were here in no time. All five of them also huddled around Keefe on my bed.

Edaline excused herself but I saw her crying into Grady's shoulder from the hallway.

We seven of us stayed lying on the massive bed for what felt like hours. Waiting and hoping for Keefe to still be Keefe when he woke up.

I had almost started to fall asleep when I felt an arm move next to me and a small chuckle.

"Wow, never thought I'd be having a team Foster-Keefe-Vacker-Dex-Song sleepover."
