Quick A/N: So haha yeah updating is very very slow but I'm getting back into it! Enjoy my loves~

Y/n continued her closet hobby and posted more and more ambitious songs, gaining a steady amount of new followers. Honestly, Y/n much preferred when they had a lower follower count as the pressure she felt towards making content had only increased since.

Kindaichi's familiar username was ever so loyal in its regular appearance in her comment sections, but it was evidently getting harder and harder to find.

Despite her ever growing popularity both online and in her outside life, Y/n tried her best to keep up with enjoying herself over anything really. School was painful as usual but ever since the first practice Y/n had gone to, she was dedicated on going every single one since.

She wasn't alone in watching which calmed her a little bit in that which the rest of the volleyball club had others to focus on, especially since every time Oikawa-senpai moved they would quite literally scream until a couple of the members had to go to the nurse, their ears ringing so loud they couldn't pay any attention to the practice before them.

Each and every bystander waited for the midway water break inching closer and closer with each ball passed, spike killed, block jumped. Waiting for the right moment....

To attack.

TWEEEEEEET! The whistle blew and at once the swarm of girls descended at speeds that even their prestigious track team could admire with certainty. Y/n felt a bit of guilt for Oikawa but looking over at Iwaizumi with his fair share of girls to talk to as well, she knew he'd just make fun of his friend alongside a mean yet lighthearted comparison to a deer in the eyes of over a dozen wolves.

Y/n, still not used to the quick flashes of movement that would just engulf the area around her, was still stunned when Kunimi had walked up to her and sat next to her in the corner of the bleachers where she sat. "Hey creep."

"OH— goodness you scared me Kunimi-kun. And I'm not a creep."

"Yeah the others are creepy so by default so are you." He smiled at her teasingly.

"Well I'm not here for Oikawa-senpai." She tugged the collar of his shirt down so his face was just a breath away from hers. "You should know that."

Kunimi just turned very very red and hid his face the second she slackened her grip with a feverishly pleased laugh. Poor Kindaichi who just looked on sadly was even noticed by Kageyama.

"Oh don't worry about them." He reassured Kindaichi. "It just means you could practice with me for a few extra minutes."

Kageyama dragged away the dejected boy, the betrayal he felt was knotting in his stomach. Every day it seemed his best friend just got closer and closer with the girl he liked. With only months away from the third years' graduation into high school he felt more pressure in volleyball itself as well. Poor Kindaichi.

Kunimi and Y/n had a weird friendship, and that was pretty much the best way to describe it in the simplest terms. They had no ulterior feelings for one another but both loved to tease the other whenever unexpected. They were, after all, pretty young. Relationship stuff was nowhere near a concern to either of them, they liked whatever fun they had together instead.

Everyone around them except maybe Kageyama (he's pretty dense) thought otherwise, and the two became a popular discussion topic between the team, and slowly but surely, the news of the queen and the closest person she'd let near her was to be of note among most of the student body.

The two were both pretty introverted so the times they spent time together outside of school wasn't as frequent, but they still made sure to have that occasional break where they'd go and just relax, whether it be at a movie, a cafe, or even just a regular walk. They took walks surprisingly often.

It so happened that our story relies healthy on the events that took place this one walk, only a couple weeks away from graduation. The late winter air was wet, cold, and hung dense in the air. It was hard to breathe at some points so the pace they kept was definitely slower than usual, a minor detail Kunimi took note of. He had many a thought on his mind, and the silence he brought on while pondering allowed him to lose focus on what was currently happening around him.

Y/n had something with her that she was so excited about, and had been wondering with an avid fascination if Kunimi would like it or not. He'd become such a good friend to her that she'd ended up writing her very first song over covering something which was much out of her comfort zone. If she was being honest, it was probably a thank you for the light that she never knew any person could bring and she wanted to stay this way, best friends, for a long time.

"Kunimi-kun?" She awoke him from his distracted manner. "I made something for you! Like a present of sorts."

He stopped, locking his eyes with hers for a good amount of time. Y/n really wanted to continue, but his pressing stare was a bit nerve wracking. "Uhhh..."

Kunimi just kept staring at her, revealing nothing and yet there was some feeling of anticipation that Y/n herself could feel in an automatic response. Now extremely shy but having too much pride to just "Nevermind" it off, Y/n held a tiny bag that was tied at one side with a thin satin ribbon. "Here you g—"

The present was already gone from the grip of her fingers but Kunimi had been so gentle she barely noticed the first second or so. He turned the bag around carefully, as if worried the slightest touch too hard would shatter the contents within.

Looking back at her, he asked with the slightest crack in his voice from being quiet for so long, "Could I open it now?"

She nodded right away and watched with a sort of entranced fascination at the way his slim fingers tugged at the ribbon, removing the bow ever so carefully. Inside was the USB containing the song file and Y/n briefly mentioned such, worried she'd break Kunimi's intense focus.

"I'll listen to it right away once I get home." He gave her the soft smile, the best he could manage without looking forceful. "Let's stop at the convenience store really quick first."

"Oh okay?" Y/n looked confused but followed alongside him, the familiar silence comforting both of them. She hadn't noticed how red his ears had turned because he'd got his hopes up for something else.

It was after all, White Day.

A/N:

Background- white day is like Valentine's Day but in this girls typically give chocolate to the boys instead of the usual opposite. Depending on the chocolate, it can signify different feelings for someone.

Hope you enjoyed <3
