Maya

A smile was etched into my face. An ivory wedding dress hugged the curves of my hips, bringing the illusion of being perfect. The lace details were small and intricate, yet so beautifully preserved. The scene cut to me walking down the aisle, the remainder of my family from Thailand on my left side and a lot of people I didn't quite seem to recognize to my right. I look to the steps where the groom and officiant stood. The groom looks to me, smiling brightly. Geonhak.

I sat up as quickly as I could, without getting sick anyway. Breathing heavily, holding my chest, the morning sickness took over my thoughts and actions. I sprinted to the bathroom, knowing that what comes up must come out. I curl over the toilet for a few minutes, emptying the remains of the food from last night. Had I really dreamt of Geonhak? A man I had just met the night before?

"You okay?" Hongseok comes into the bathroom, crouching down to my level, moving my hair from my face. Our eyes meet, his full of concern, but mine quite the opposite.
"Sure, getting morning sickness is a happy go-lucky time!" I pitch up my voice like an animated character and sarcastically smile, before it falls. "Morning sickness is a bitch. Thanks for getting me pregnant." I rub my belly.
"Let me grab you some water," he reaches his hands out, helping me up. "Brush your teeth. I'll be right back."
My eyes trail him as he leaves the small room. I need to tell him about my date with Geonhak.

Walking into our shared room, I grab my phone off the light blue bedside table, disconnecting the charger. A notification shines brightly with the name 'G❤️‍🔥'. My FaceID unlocks the phone.
'G❤️‍🔥 - it was great meeting you, cannot wait for Saturday'
I smile, a sense of warmth going through my cheeks as I sit on the bed.
'M✨ - see you saturday! cant wait☺️'

"Here's your water," Hongseok comes in with a glass of water. I take it, smiling gently.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" I turn towards him, placing my phone screen down on the bed.
"What's up?" He looks at me, a small smile on his face.
"So I met this guy, who asked me on a date. Would you be alright with me going on this date?" I look at Hongseok, eyes focused on my face.
Hongseok snorts, "Sure, go ahead and enjoy yourself. Do I know this guy?"

Hongseok
"Sure, go ahead and enjoy yourself. Do I know this guy?" I snort, trying to convince myself that this is not a big deal. BUT IT IS HONGSEOK.
"Well," she avoids my eyes, staring at the wall. "It's Geonhak."
"Of OneUs?"
She nods, "Yeah, him. He and I got to talking last night. It was about the most endearing talk I've had in the last three weeks. He talking to me more than you, my date, did last night."
"Maya-"
"Hongseok. I may be pregnant with your baby, but that doesn't mean I am in love with you. If you truly want me, like you claim, try putting in the effort to do so. I'm going to get something to eat, since I have nothing left in my stomach," she stomps out of the room. Hongseok, you fucked up.

Maya

I am unable to do workouts like I normally would, so the walk across base, or from my shared bedroom to the kitchen, is enough for me. Wooseok is sat at the table, face down, when I enter the kitchen. His head perks up when he heard my footsteps.
"Hey Maya, how are you?" He turns his face back to the table.
"Tired. Sick. Hungry. What about you?" I open the fridge and grab a yogurt, then turn to him.
"I drank too much, my head hurts," I hear him sigh, so I rub his shoulder.
"Do you want some pear juice? It helps with hangovers," I question a little.
"Please."
"Alright, give me just a minute," I set the yogurt down and grab two pears from the fridge.

After fives minutes or removing the core, seeds, & skin, then juicing it, I place a glass in front of Wooseok.
"Ahh, that hurt. Why did you set it down that hard?"
"I didn't, you're just hungover," I chuckle.
"Ugh, I hate this, but thanks for the juice," he smiles gently.
"No problem, you big baby," I smile, ruffling his hair gently. I walk over to a drawer, opening it, and grabbing a spoon. Finally, I am able to eat my yo-
"Maya," Hyunggu's voice booms through the kitchen.
"Is anyone going to let me eat my yogurt?"
"Go ahead and eat it, but I did want to talk to you real quick," he sits down nect to me. "I saw you and Leedo of OneUs talking a lot last night. What happened with you and Hongseok?"
"He ditched me, and since I didn't know anyone, Leedo came over to talk. He and I hit it off, so we are going on a date on Saturday," I explain.
"So, no more you and Hongseok?"
"Why am I going to give up something that I think could be good for me for someone who clearly doesn't care enough to put in the effort to introduce me to others?" I take a bit of the yogurt off my spoon.
"Hongseok cares about you," Hyunggu looks at me, a serious look on his face.
"He has a funny way of showing it, doesn't he?"
"He's been in the mafia business since birth, so he has difficulty showing that he consciously cares for others. Also, Hongseok subconsciously loses touch with reality at certain points, since he was taught that reality isn't anything that belongs in the mafia," he explains.
Wooseok chimes in, "Hongseok doesn't like emotions, so he won't say anything; however, if you truly want him to say he does care, talk to him."
"Wow, since when did our baby become so knowledgeable?"
"Since I had a hangover and want you two to quit talking."

Hongseok
"If he really cares, he should tell me that himself," Maya sighs as I listen in on her conversation. I really did shut her out... She doesn't want me to be the one if I can't open up. What the hell do I do now?
