Luke's POV
Luke's heart pounded as he approached the classroom that Guitar was held in. He had been avoiding Roxy all day, which definately was going to make this class awkward.
He also had been thinking about her all day and it seemed that the more he thought about her, the more he wanted to get to know her and at least be friends with her. It was killing him that he had to pretend she was nothing to him, just to get along with Anisha.
Anisha had been particularly clingy all day. She constantly tried to hold his attention throughout Geometry and Literature, and she kept texting stuff like "I miss you" and "I love you". It made him cringe internally, and he found it hard to respond to them.
Luke approached the door to guitar instruction and gulped. How was he going to face her today? He placed his hand on the door knob, but paused before turning it.
"Mate whats wrong?"
Luke jumped and turned to see Alex standing behind him.
"Nothing", Luke said.
Alex raised his eyebrows and shook his head. "Doesn't seem like nothing. Lets hang out after school. I need to go to your brothers guitar shop anyway, my Maton needs some repairs."
Luke sighed inwardly. Alex was a pretty good friend and Luke really liked him alot, but the dude was too damn perceptive, and annoyingly had no filter. He had been the first to call Luke out about getting back together with Anisha. He had also been one of the one's who was convinced that he cheated on Anisha, although he never judged Luke for it.
"Alex, mate..."
"Don't Alex mate me", he said chuckling. "I know my mate is afraid to go in class and train one of the most beautiful girls on this planet in guitar because he has a girlfriend, who is also extremely gorgeous and jealous. Mate, I have never been in your shoes and I need to know your secret. Please show me your ways!"
Luke laughed along with Alex at this. This is why he really liked Alex.
"Plus, it might be better that you talk it over with one of your best mates anyway. We don't want what happened to Jacqueline to happen to Roxy."
Luke gulped again, trying to hold back the guilt he felt about Jacqueline's fate and said, "Alright mate."
"Cool, I'll drive you over there after school. I'll text Anisha that I'm stealing you for a few hours."
With that, Alex and Luke walked into the classroom. Luke searched for Roxy.
She was sitting with the girl he thinks name is Angelica. They did not notice him and Alex walk in. Alex sauntered right over to pair and started chatting, while Luke awkwardly made his way towards Gordy and Matty.
"Luke mate!", Gordy said loudly and Luke cringed as most of the class looked towards him. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Roxy looking at him.
"Hey Gordy", Luke said.
Luke looked towards Roxy and gave her a small wave. Roxy smiled and waved back.
A wave of relief washed over Luke as he took in her sweet, beautiful smile.
Mr. Christie walked in instructing everyone to get in their peer pairs. Luke grabbed his Maton and Fat Lady that he had brought to guitar earlier and headed towards Roxy.
He took a seat next to her and handed her the Maton.
"Thanks Luke", she said.
"No problem Roxy", Luke said smiling.
