Roxy's POV
Skipping school and going to the beach with Calum, Luke and Michael had turned out to be a good idea actually.
The boys were terrible surf instructors although they weren't that bad at surfing. Roxy smiled at the the fact that she had learned something new. She glanced at Luke, who was walking next to her, as they made their way back to their spot. She could still feel his arms wrapped around her waist as the stood up on the board together. That moment had actually made her love surfing.
"I am so hungry", Francesca mused.
Roxy realized that they hadn't packed anything to eat at all to come on the beach.
"There's a pub not too far from here", Calum said. He draped his arm casually around Francesca's shoulders. She rested her head on his shoulders and smiled up at him.
"I'm game", she said.
"Good", Calum said resting his chin on his her soft waves that had gotten even more wavy since Calum thought it would be funny to dunk her head under water. "They have really good lagers there."
Roxy frowned at their proximity. Just last night, Francesca was speaking about how much she liked Michael, but now she was giving all her affection to Calum? Roxy didn't get it. What was Francesca doing?
Roxy glanced at Michael who stood a little ways away from them, with his arms over his shoulders watching their PDA. He had on dark sunglasses, so it was hard to read his face, but Roxy could tell by the hard set line of his lips that he was not happy.
Roxy glanced at Amanda who was pretending no one existed and was on her phone, probably strolling through Instagram.
Roxy felt the uneasiness she had felt at the beginning of the beach trip. Something terrible was going to happen by the end of the day. She just knew it.
"Calum, why don't show us the way", Kylie quipped. She glanced at Roxy. Roxy knew she also sensed the tension in the air.
Luke's POV
Luke had noticed Roxy's uneasiness. He watched as Roxy nervously glanced between Calum and Francesca, Michael and then Amanda. He remembered her speech about loving her best friends, and he hoped that his friends wouldn't mess that up. Because if Roxy sensed that they were threat, Luke knew that she would get rid of them instantly.
Luke decided to text Roxy inconspicuously.
Luke: Okay, tell me whats up with Francesca, Calum, and Amanda? I noticed the awkwardness and I think you do too.
Roxy: Um I don't know if I should tell you
Luke: Please? I mean it involves my friends too
Roxy: Well Francesca confessed last night that she liked Michael and that Michael had been showing her affection all day. But I'm confused now, because she seems totally into Calum. Amanda likes Michael too I think...IDK
Luke: Really...Calum picked up on something between Michael and Francesca yesterday when we were hanging out. He's been wanting to rip Michael to shreds since then.
Roxy: Oh God this is not good....
Luke: Tell me about it. Should we butt in or butt out?
Roxy: IDK...apart of me wants to butt in, but I don't know if I really trust what Francesca is saying to me anymore, especially since her actions aren't matching her words.
Luke: You have a point. Lets let it play out. Have you enjoyed your day so far?
Roxy: Agreed and yes, this has been the best day ever
