Ranaak's death was all throughout the news. Fans paid tributes to him and openly shared their grief.
No one knew how Ranaak died, except for Mihir, who performed his last rites. He knew that he couldn't hide the truth from his friends any longer, due to which he decided to tell them all at an informal meeting.
Nisha and Mishti were extremely sad when they realised that their non-blood brother was not truthful to them about this. Prem and Rohit were very angry, and Mr and Mrs Sehgal, Sunil, and Aisha had mixed feelings.
Everyone was angry with Mihir, except for Sanya, Raj and Pooja.
"We're like your family!" said Rohit. "Why did you hide such a big thing from us?"
"I thought you'd never lie to me. Why did you do this, bro?" asked Nisha.
But Mihir was filled with too much grief, anxiety, and vengeance to answer them.
Raj understood him and explained to them about Mihir's fears. "His life is indirectly under threat!" he yelled. "That's why he didn't tell us."
All of them quickly apologised to Mihir.
"But Ranaak told something extra too," said Mihir, after he got a bit comfortable. "He told me to free a some Nagpur police inspector and his wife from Anyaan."
"Did he give any names?" asked Mrs Sehgal.
"Shekhar Dixit and Leela."
When he heard the names, Raj was horrified, and tears began to flow out of his eyes.
"What's the matter Raju?" said Mihir. "Oh God! I know! They're..."
"My parents, Shakkar!" said Raj. "I just got a call from my neighbour in Nagpur saying that my parents have been missing for nearly six months!"
The matter hit Mihir hard, and he was shocked. Not only had Anyaan committed many heinous acts, he had kidnapped his best friend's parents too!
"I will find that scoundrel at any cost and punish him," he declared. "How dare he kidnap your parents?"
"We'll help you, bro," said Nisha and Mishti. "So will we," added their husbands.
Mihir felt relieved. "I'm gonna trick him into leading me to his lair. Do you have ideas?"
Sanya's face immediately brightened up. "Mick, I have an idea," she said.
All of them unitedly looked Sanya.
"You have to openly challenge Anyaan to fight with you. If you don't, he'll think that you've given up, and will continue to wreak havoc with those devils of his. And that would mean that Ranaak's sacrifice would be wasted."
Mihir beamed. How smart his Sanu was! He'd never challenged Anyaan openly, maybe due to his habit of avoiding picking fights. But this time, he had to commence the battle.
"Sanu, you're brilliant!" he said, suddenly hugging her. But when he realised that the time and place weren't right, he let her go.
"You have to put up an Instagram live from an anonymous account and challenge him. Also, tell the truth of how Ranaak actually died," she said.
"Sanya is right," said Sunil. "Anyaan needs to be intimidated at least a bit," added Prem.
"I will put up the video tomorrow morning, and you all have to share it," said Mihir. "Will you do this for me?"
All the youngsters promised him to do so.
"Uncle, Aunty, both of you have a fine reputation in the society. I think you should help too."
"Mihir, you needn't tell us to do our duty," said Mr Sehgal. "Moreover, you told me that Anyaan was going to send his humanoids to work for the XXX terrorist organisation in Afghanistan! We must catch that traitor as soon as possible!"
"And also, those humanoids are all over Maharashtra," added Aisha. "I wonder what they've done. Just last week, I heard that there was a missile attack in Aurangabad! But the police were prepared, though."
"We'll catch him for sure, and also rescue Raj's parents," said Mihir.
Everyone agreed with him, and decided to leave. But Sanya told her parents and Sunil that she wanted to spend the night with Mihir. After some persuasion, they agreed, leaving Raj, Prem and Rohit, along with their respective wives, amused.
"Sanu, are you okay with sleeping next to me?" asked Mihir. "I'll lie down on the floor, if you want."
"No Mick!" she said, sounding alarmed. "What if I get nightmares? You are my special friend, and I'll feel safe if you are near."
Her heart urged her to confess her feelings, but was unable to. She did not want to distract him from his main motive - capturing Anyaan.
She maintained a safe distance from him, and both of them lay on the bed in such a way that their backs faced each other.
"Good night, Mihir," said Sanya.
"Good night, Beauty."
Mihir wanted to kiss her, amorously cuddle her, and rave for days about how much he loved her. But he was a respectful guy. He wanted her consent.
"You look so cute when you're asleep," he thought. "In case something happens to me, you have to..."
But he was cut short by her soft palm touching his lips. Whether she did that knowingly or unknowingly, we don't know.
Mihir and Sanya were each other's world. She was Hero's Heroine.
