Marcy yawned. It was early in the day as they were getting supplies for the new school-year. They'd partied the day before because it was Rajah's third birthday. She was still sleepy, even though the party ended at four in the afternoon.

"How are you doing?" Laura stepped up to her.

"With?"

"Life."

"It's whatever."

"Marce..."

"What?"

"I'm asking."

Marcy frowned.

Laura turned to her. "As your big sister, I'm asking how you are."

Marcy's frown deepened. "I'm-"

Laura raised her brows, really listening.

"Tired." Marcy admitted.

"With?"

"Life."

Laura didn't like that at all. "Do we need to talk?"

"Aren't we?"

Laura facepalmed. "With our therapists-?"

"No!"

Laura looked at her painfully. "I'm not trying to ambush you."

Marcy clenched her fists, trying to quail her fight or flight reflexes.

Laura just let her work through it.

Marcy finally pulled it together. "I'm not seeing them."

"Not that I want to either but why don't you?"

Because every time I do, I admit to something! "I need a reason?"

"You have an array to choose from." Laura admitted.

"I just want to get through this year."

"Why?" Laura worried.

Marcy had no idea but she felt like she was on a timer. She was racing against the clock to not just survive but live.

Laura could see the turmoil in her peacock gaze. "I'll stop bugging you."

Marcy didn't trust that for nothing in the world.

M-A-P

Marcy hung up from talking to her best friend and finished getting dressed so she and her family could go to Laura's and Marc's for Laura's ice cream party.

She finished and left the room to get things together as Ellen rushed in. She went to make sure the kids were getting ready then readied the bus that she'd built to transport them all. When all that was ready to go, she made them all leave the house with their security.

They traveled to Marc's and Laura's estate and went inside to find the newly turned 25 year old.

And immediately found a setup.

"What is wrong with you?!" Marcy couldn't believe the blonde.

"It's my birthday wish." Laura had no problems playing the birthday card. "I want us to have one family meeting where we aren't at each other's throats."

"I know whose throat I want to be at now!"

Laura pouted. "Please?"

"No!"

They were shocked. "Please" usually worked on Marcy. Was Laura right and something was going on?

Maddie, who'd had no idea about this ambush (and wouldn't have agreed to it), hugged Marcy. "It's okay. We can go home and not open the door for them at all."
