Chapter 7 "Breathe"

Next Day 

Middle of the Day

She was sleeping in the bed, feeling the warmth of the blanket that she was wrapped in. Last night she fell asleep in Noe's hands, but as soon as she fell into the deep sleep, he placed her in the bed and wrapped her with a warm blanket, leaving her room. The vampire of the blue moon slowly opened her eyes, feeling rays of the sun on her face. She tried to stand up, but fall on her knees, feeling how her body got weak and she started losing her breathe, trying to catch it with her mouth. She started choking, feeling not enough breathe to take in her lungs. She falls to the floor, feeling how she started losing consciousness. She looks up and saw Ruthven who stood on his knees in front of her and took her head in his hands, making her get up on her knees.

- You still have these breathing problems, - said Ruthven with a worried voice, stroking her hair, - Breathe, I am here.

She looked at his eyes, feeling how her hard breathing slowly normalized and she started feeling better. It all started after what happened to William. Those episodes were usually unexpectedly hitting her at any moment of her life. It was some sort of trauma that she got after it and only Ruthven knew about it, trying to save her from it. She was scared to show it to others, even to Noe. For her, it was her weakness. 

- You feel better now? - asked Ruthven, helping her to stand up. She nodded with a pale face. Yesterday took a lot of her energy that made her feel exhausted. She hugged Ruthven feeling the shock from his body. He put his hands over her shoulders and smiled.

- I am glad you back, - her voice was weak and quiet, but he could hear how happy was she seeing him again after this ball. Noe looked inside of opened door to her room, seeing her and Ruthven. He freezes looking at them. She looked at Ruthven, feeling his hand on her cheek, - It was harder than I thought to communicate with someone new again.

- You closed yourself, it should not be like that. It is been almost a year, you should move forward and let it go or these breathing problems will never leave you, [y/n], - said Ruthven, exhaling, - they don't know about them, don't they?

She got out of his hug and rolled her eyes. She looked at the open door and noticed Noe, who was looking at her. As soon as he got catches, he blushed, looking at her. Noe opened his mouth, feeling the awkwardness of this situation. 

- What's the matter? - Ruthven turned around and looked at her, noticing where she was looking at. Ruthven looked at Noe and smiled, - Good Day, Noe Archiviste.

- Oh, Good Day, I just, - Noe started pointing at some directions around the hall, awkwardly trying to explain himself, - wanted to get her back to go to see you, Lord Ruthven. But I see that you are already here.

Lord nodded and approached the door, looking at the vampire of the blue moon.

- Well then, I will see all of you later today, - said Lord, leaving her room, but stopped in the doorway, looking back at her, - Take care of yourself, please.

She rolled her eyes and sat down on the couch, looking down at the carpet. Noe came inside and looked at her.

- Are you feeling okay? You look pale, - asked Noe, coming to her and touching her forehead, - oh, you have a fever.

She slapped his hand from her forehead and stood up angrily looking at him, feeling how she starting losing her breathe again.

- I'm fine, - she quickly left a room, trying to hide it from him. 

- Wait, - said Noe, trying to catch her arm, but catching an air instead.

She ran all the way downstairs, leaving a mansion, running all the way through empty street corridors. Even she and Noe got close, the fear of showing others her weakness could not leave her. She got to the dead-end and stopped, feeling how she started choking again. She falls to her knees, half-closing her eyes. Feeling this sickness again.
