Chapter - 15

"Am I looking good in this Haven?"

On hearing her name Haven turned around to find Elmina wearing one of the coats hanging on the stand. The realization of whose coat she was wearing turned her expressions to horror

"Oh God Lord" Haven exclaimed and quickly removed the coat from her.

"Why do you always do such things Elmina?"

Haven scolded her while dusting the coat and hanging it back to the stand.

"Haven, why are you so serious all the time? Loosen up a little bit. Nothing is going to happen, you too know that. Our master is out for some matters and won't be back till midnight, so relax."

Elmina said in a calm tone and sat on one of their master's couches and exclaimed in joy

"Oh my, this feels like heaven!"

"You won't change will you?"

"And miss all your scolding? Nah, I'm good"

To which Haven could only shake her head with a small smile on her face.

"You know wh-"

Elmina's sentence was cut short by a slam of the door.

The house drowned in pin-drop silence after the noise. After what felt like hours a loud crashing sound along with incoherent curses was heard.

Fear gripped their hearts on hearing their master's voice. They were still in his room which made them frozen in their place.

Flattering footsteps could be heard coming closer to the room. The rattling of the doorknob broke their stance and Elmina jumped from the couch and darted towards Haven.

"Who do t-they think they are? Why will I give them my Hav-"

Adnan stopped in his sentence when he saw his slaves in his room.

A strong smell of alcohol filled the room which made them step back in disgust.

"Well well well, what do we have here?"

"Uhmm let me guess, you miss me didn't you, my sweet little fairy?"

Seeing Adnan advancing towards them Haven lightly pushed Elmina behind her, which didn't go unnoticed by Adnan and he halted in his steps.

"Aww is someone trying to protect their friend?" Adnan smirked at her while taking a small step towards them.

One more step and their chest would be touching, seeing this closeness between them, Haven tried to step back but was caught by Adnan who gripped her arm and brought her towards him.

A small gasp left Haven's mouth which only grew Adnan's smirk. He dropped her arm and lifted his knuckles to graze her face softly.

"Y-You know they wanted me to hand you over to them but I refused. I fought with them for you my fairy."

Haven could not breathe in this proximity. She was frozen in her spot, unable to think properly. Elmina's sharp intake of breath made her come back to reality and she stepped back from Adnan and took Elmina's hand in hers.
