"Fighting back is a choice,
Strengthened by your past
Not strangled by it"
- Steve Maraboli
In third person's POVShe was running as fast as she could in a never-ending dark forest. The thudding of paws behind her made her run even faster.
Her breath was uneven and she was struggling to catch her breath.
The dark forest was surrounded by many voices of hooting and howling of animals.
The full moon was shining brightly revealing her pale skin marred with scars, with blood dripping from it.
Her dress was torn, ruined by the cruel thorny bushes that came in her way.
The beast was no longer following her but she didn't stop, fearing that he will devour her the moment she stopped.
Suddenly her right leg got hit by a rock and she meets the ground with a loud thud.
Blood was oozing from the fresh cut of her leg.
She tore a piece of cloth from her skirt and tied her wounded leg. Tears were continuously rolling down her cheeks.
Her mind commanded her to go up and run but immense pain in her leg didn't allow her to even stand up.
With great difficulty, she managed to get up and she limped and continued her journey.
Her stomach was growling with hunger and her throat became dry.
She couldn't bear this pain and hunger anymore. She was exhausted.
She last saw a lake before giving into numbness.
