Chapter - 4

When Haven's eyes met a pair of warm chocolate brown eyes, her heart missed a beat. She felt everything around her fade, leaving only her and the man standing in front of her.

She was attracted to him like a moth to the flame.

The feeling she felt was so overwhelming and cannot explain in words.

Moments passed, yet both of them could not avert their eyes off each other.

The time seemed as if it has ceased for them.

Their moment didn't last long as they were interrupted by someone's chuckle.

Haven broke their eye contact and looked in the direction of the sound, only to find Ethan and Grace grinning at them.

She looked towards the man who was staring at her with some emotions she could not decipher.

He walked closer to her and forwarded his hand towards her. When their hands met, she felt tingling sensations in her body, and an intoxicating minty smell mixed with honeydew evaded her, blocking all her senses.

"Nice to meet you, Miss Haven."

He said with a husky voice.

"We are not going to stay here forever, or are we? If you are planning to do so, I'm out of this, and she is too, right Haven?"

Grace finally spoke in fake annoyance while rolling her eyes at them.

"C'mon, Haven, let's get inside and, you both freshen up and meet us at the rooftop."

Grace took Haven with her and left Ethan and Devin behind.

Haven was still unable to think straight.

She tried to distract herself, but her mind pondered over the encounter that happened a few minutes ago.
She absentmindedly followed Grace.

Upon reaching there, Grace turned towards Haven and spoke in an  voice while pointing towards the arrangement,

"Is this up to the mark?"

Haven could not believe her eyes.

In front of her was an elegantly decorated rooftop adorned with mesmerizing golden lighting everywhere.

In the middle, there was a large pool with white lights on the corners. Walking further, she found a small corner near the railing where the dining table was placed, decorated.

The handrail had many vibrant colored lightings illuminating the entire dining area. The dining table was too illuminated by a lovely candle placed in the middle.

"It is truly breathtaking."
Haven said with an assuring smile.

Grace's face lit up in a grin on hearing the compliment.

"Let's sit here and wait for them."

They took their seats at the dining table and Grace continued her ramblings.

After a bit , Grace heard footsteps approaching them.

"And here they come."

Devin and Ethan came striding towards the dining table and took their respective seats. Ethan sat near Grace while Devin took his seat near Haven. Haven's body became stiff near Devin's presence.

"Normally, you don't take much time to get ready, but today you have put some effort into the dressing. Anything special today, Devin?"

Grace spoke in a teasing manner while wriggling her eyebrows. Devin nervously shrugged off Grace while replying,
