"Tears are the words
The heart can not say"

Haven bit her lower lip in nervousness when she found Devin approaching her. He casually waltzed in the room wearing a fitting grey top putting his biceps in-display paired with black jeans. Something about the way he looked at her made her insides turn and knees weak. A simple glance from him held Haven captivated. A small smile plastered his face while he continued coming closer to her, each step making her heart slam her chest.

"So you like reading."

"Yes, I do."

Devin's eyes traveled down the book lying on the floor. Haven noticed his eyes and told,

"Sorry, I was just startled and, the book slipped from my hand. I'll keep it on the shelf."

She was about to bend down but, Devin held her hand.

"It's okay. I'll do it."

While keeping the book, he asked Haven,

"From how long you are here?"

"I don't know exactly but, from the evening, I was here reading the book."

Devin just hummed in response.

"It's too late now. Let's go downstairs."

Devin told Haven while she nodded in response and, they both exited the library. The walk to their respective rooms was in comfortable silence.

"So here comes your room."

Haven curtly nodded at him and spoke,

"Good night, Alpha."

"It's Devin, not Alpha to you."

Before Haven could speak, Devin wished her good night and entered the adjacent room to her.

Haven's slumber was interrupted by a knock on the door. She slowly opened her eyes and stood up from the bed to open the door while rubbing her eyes. The other side of the door revealed a cheerful Grace.

"Good morning, sleepyhead."

Haven quickly straightened up.

"Good morning, Grace."

"Good morning, Haven. Now, get ready quickly. Tasty food awaits you."

Grace winked at her and left the room.

Haven quickly went to the bathroom to get ready.

A few minutes later, she came downstairs to find everybody ready and waiting for her at the table with a smile on their faces except Eleanor. She decided to push the negative thoughts aside and joined them.

"I apologize for making everybody wait."

"No, it's fine."

Devin told her with an assuring smile.

They had their breakfast in silence. After breakfast, Devin spoke,

"Haven, I would like to have a word with you in my office."

Devin left, Haven following him behind.

Devin entered a room and sat on the chair, directing Haven to sit in front of him. The room had many files and documents neatly placed on a shelf. The table in front of her had some files and pens within a pen holder.

Haven sat nervously, wondering what questions Devin had in store for her. Meanwhile, Devin had a stern expression on his face while he spoke,

"Haven, I don't want to intrude on your personal life or your past but, this conversation is important."
