Rewrite the Stars [ Taekook ]

Taehyung p.o.v

"Are we supposed to go into that!?" Jimin shrieked. This part of the woods were darker and the trees looked burnt, something in me said that we weren't welcome there. I looked at Jungkook who simply nodded at me and walked forward. "This must be the vengline forest" he said.

"I won't go in there!" Jimin stepped back folding his arms in defiance. Yoongi rolled his eyes, "No one is forcing you to" he then followed Jungkook.

"Be nice" Jungkook nudged the soldier.

"My duty is to protect you and not some Zalrian" he looked at Jimin who squinted his eyes, "I told you that I  don't need your protection Knight Yonki"

"Its Yoongi and you know it" he pointed his finger at Jimin.

Jimin had told me that they had kissed that day, I did not expect that to happen but I thought they would atleast be considerate towards each other, but no, they are back to hating each other. 

"If you are done being children let's move" Jungkook used his commanding voice and Yoongi had to obey.

"Yes Prince" he accompanied Jungkook and Jimin came to my side.

As we walked, the silence between us grew.

"Do you hear it?" Yoongi places a hand before Jungkook making the prince stop in his tracks and tilt his head to look around.

"I hear nothing" Jimin whispers, his hold on my hand tightening.

"Exactly" Yoongi reached for his sword.

I understood what was happening. The silence, it was artificial. No forest is meant to be completely silent. There must be someone human or non-human waiting to attack.

"Stand guard, Taehyung and I will go alone" Jungkook commanded Yoongi.

"But—"

"If anything happens I can fight  hyung" he smiled at him. Before Yoongi could say anything, "It's an order—oh and try not to kill each other" he pointed at Jimin.

The cave was dark except for the illuminating water, "look" I pointed at it. Jungkook dropped his sword on the floor and raised his hands, "we mean no harm, we just need to talk"

The water split into two and a figure appeared, a tall man dressed in all white, his skin pale as snow and his hair dark as the night sky, his gaze was soft yet so fierce, "You are finally here" he looked at Jungkook.

"You expected my arrival?"

"For 22 years"

"If you don't mind me asking, who are you? where you the one I heard in my vision?"

"Yes. I'm Seokjin" he smiles, "A fairy, I foresee prophecy"

"I suppose you see mine too-- I've been having dreams and I need to know what it means" Jungkook steps forward.

"and what happens in these dreams?" The fairy, Seokjin asks.

Jungkook looks at me and for a split second I see fear in his eyes, it soon molds into determination, he looks at the fairy, "I see fire—it feels so real, I could feel the fire in my skin and—some awful smell—like burning---burning---"

"Like burning flesh?" Seokjin asks.

"Yes."

"How do you feel in that moment"

"Despite the fire I felt cold, I felt like I was about to die" he answers.

"were you afraid?" Seokjin looks curious like he is waiting for a specific answer, like his next action depends on Jungkook's answer.

"No—I felt relieved. Happy."

The smile on the fairy's lips fades, he looks at me, "Was he present in your dreams?"

"No."

"Good." He looked conflicted and his lips curled into a smile, "It's almost time PERSEUS"

"Perseus?" Jungkook cocks his eyebrow.

"Yes. Your name is Perseus" Seokjin states calmly.

An awkward smile playing on his lips, "I'm pretty sure I'm Jungkook" he says.

"Perseus is your god given name, you can't ignore that part of you any longer, you must own up to it" Seokjin says, his every word echoes in the cave.

What was he talking about? God given? Who is Jungkook? Realization dawned upon me, I don't know anything about Jungkook and I fell for him.

"and you" he looked at me, "Forget him and leave"

"What?"

"You weren't meant to be together. Do not defy fate." Seokjin's eyes were piercing into mine.

"I don't care about 'meant to be'. I love him and I will never leave him. Ever." I was known for being stubborn and I'm not letting this go.

"Why? Why shouldn't we be together?" Jungkook asks him.

"prophecy" he replies nonchalantly.

"Tell me what you know" Jungkook ordered. 

"Do not order me around child" Seokjin scowled, "All I can say is that your stories were never written, all it can cause is death and destruction. Your death to be exact" he pointed at Jungkook.

"There has to be some other way" I could see that Jungkook was having trouble believing the fairy.

"No. It will end in your death" he warned, "and you will cause it" he pointed at me. A cold feeling sweeped through me.

My heart sunk hearing those words. What else was I expecting? Jungkook didn't look at me, his eyes were still focused on the fairy. I thanked the heavens for that, cause if he had looked at me, I would have broken down, I would have cried and made a mess out of myself, begging him, begging the fairy, begging anyone to change the fate.

"I don't understand why will I--" what could I possibly do to cause Jungkook's death. No..I love him.

"You weren't supposed to be together! you weren't supposed to meet! weren't supposed to fall in love!" Seokjin yelled, his voice booming, "You are not even supposed to be alive Taehyung"

"What do you mean?" Jungkook asked.

"Remember when you were caught by the royal guards when you were younger? and you miraculously espaced?"

I remember, Jungkook was the one who let me out. "y-yes?"

"You weren't supposed to escape. You were supposed to die that day...but the prince had other plans" Seokjin glared at Jungkook, "defying fate"

"I do not regret saving him" Jungkook says firmly.

"You and him being together will bring about destruction. Taehyung you will cause him death"

Jungkook opened his mouth to say something but Seokjin interrupted him, "The end is near PERSEUS"

Perseus. To destroy.

With that the fairy disappeared. The cave was once again dark, he took all the light with him.

With that the light and hope in me was gone too.
