After that tragic thing you called a meeting, you had far too much adrenaline in your veins. After the stunt Aegeus pulled, you stayed on your toes for the next three hours of the meeting in case he felt like doing it again. Afterwards, you had gone back to your room hoping to get some rest since you hadn't slept properly in over three days. However, with all the adrenaline you had, that was impossible so you decided to find a place in the fortress to calm yourself.

Your father would no doubt be on the bridge so you couldn't go there. The library would be full of soldiers, as would the training room be. Therefore, your only option was the lava lake. Beneath the fortress was a small dock that was rarely ever used. The Nether didn't use boats nor had any creatures in the lava to fish. The only reason the dock had been built was for people who still rode Striders, which was rare.

You used to come to the dock in your princess days to soothe your mind but after you had finally been recruited into the army, you no longer had the time for it. The only time you had to relax was often in the middle of the night when you would stand in the bridge, enjoying the cool air.

You had made your way down the stairs leading to the land directly next to the lake and were now making your way towards the dock. The pure heat of the lava was now noticeable at how close you were to it, however, for you, it was a comfortable heat you enjoyed very much. Its light illuminated along the mountain walls and fortress. If it wasn't for the lava pools and rivers, the only source of light in the Nether would be the glowstone that appeared on the Nether roof once in a while.

You had been paying so much attention to the lava that when you reached the dock, you hadn't noticed someone else already there. The clack of your heeled leather boots on the netherrack Dock had received their attention and they turned their head towards you.

You looked at the figure sitting at the edge of the dock and recognised them immediately. They wore a golden crown with countless amounts of jewels on their luxurious pink hair that trailed down their dark regal cloak. King Technoblade.

"Sorry, I didn't think anyone else was here" you apologised, turning on your heels to leave the man alone.

"No, no. If you would like to sit, please do. Don't mind myself being here" he grunted. You watched as he shuffled slightly to the left, giving you space to sit. You accepted the invite and sat on the edge of the dock, one leg underneath you and the other hanging over the lava, just barely skimming the top of the heat. As you sat, the Pigman seemed to tense himself as if he wasn't expecting you to accept the invite to sit.

Neither of you said anything, for both of you had come to this place to cool down after the meeting. Technoblade was fueled with anger at what his friend had done. You were exhausted yet couldn't sleep.

After a few minutes of silence, Technoblade suddenly spoke. "I'm sorry about my friend, he is still not accustomed to the new laws allowing women to be equal as men"

"There's no need for you to apologise, it's not your fault, plus, I'm used to it. You don't become the first female general without getting used to a little violent backlash" you replied, shocked that the man thought he had to apologise.

He thought for a moment before speaking again. "Still, no man should act that way. If was uncalled for and stupid".

"I take you don't like him much" you laughed. You saw a very small smile grow on the Pigman's face.

"Eh, it's more, I've known him for the majority of my life and he was a genuine person until he joined the army. I'm sure you know what war can do to a person. It hit him hard" Technoblade explained. The more the two of you talked, the less tense the man seemed to get.

"Well that's friendship I guess. You stick with them through thick and thin only to realise they've grown into a monster," you sighed.

"You say that like you have experience"

"Eh, you could say that. All I'm going to say is I think I have one friend but that's because I send him some netherite once in a while" you chuckled.

The tone of your voice must have caught the Pigman off guard as he laughed so loud you swore you heard a Hoglin get scared off, causing you to giggle along with him.

You turned to look at him then. The flash of a smile from underneath his mask, and the way the glow of the lava made the pink of his hair glitter. The golden jewellery he had all over him glistened in the evening light. He looked much more like royalty than a warrior, however, you knew best that looks deceive.

The two of you fell into a silence that felt comfortable yet uncomfortable at the same time. You searched your mind for something to talk about when your eye caught a glimpse of something in Technoblade's hands. There sat a small book with a leather cover. There didn't seem to be any writing on the book so you decided to spark up a conversation about it. "What are you reading?" You asked, slightly nodding your head towards the book.

Technoblade glanced down at his book and a small smirk grew on his face. "The Art of War by Sun Tzu. It's one of my favourites. I've probably read it hundreds of times by now" he explained. His entire demeanour seemed to of changed as he spoke about what he enjoyed.

"I actually think I've read that one. Well, it was read to me by my.... advisor, many years ago so I don't remember most of it." You laughed, slowly getting up. "Well this was rather nice, but I'm getting drowsy since I've been very busy for the last twenty or so hours so I'll see you at tomorrows meeting, King Technoblade"

"Very well, I'll see you soon General y/n"
