One day later...

The scenery is perfect. I can't find another word for the sight that I am seeing. Just perfect. It looked like a painting that came to life. As the waves came rushing to my feet. Beautiful. I thought.

"Are you just going to stand there, and wait for Christmas?" I turned to see who was talking. It was a guy with a medium length black hair, in a white polo uniform. The same exact polo that was given to me as well.

"I'm sorry." I chuckled as I jogged my way to where he was.

"You're Yeonjun, right?" He asked. He didn't looked happy at all, he looked tired.

"Do you know that frowning can give you wrinkles?" I asked him. He became concious of his face expression, and changed into something more welcoming. I smiled at him, and he gave me a tour of the whole island.

We were walking on the place where the cabins were, when I suddenly felt someone's eyes on me. Call me delusional, but I could feel it. When I got the perfect moment to catch whoever that person was, I turned as quickly as I could. The door slammed shut from a large cabin. It was specially larger than the others.

"Who stays in that cabin?" I asked the guy with me, who apparently has the name, Hyunjin.

"My cousin, Yeji. The owner of this island by the way. Don't be kind to her, she's a brat." He rolled his eyes and I laughed in response. She's cute actually.

We finished the whole tour, and the only place that I'll be working on is at the beach place. It was still early in the morning, and since Hyunjin said the beach is not open every early in the morning, I went to the gazebo that I spotted a while ago.

"You have pink hair." I looked up, and saw a girl wearing a black robe. I only hoped she was wearing something inside it.

"Uh... yes I do."

"Your hair was black in your I.D picture. You looked much more presentable, but now... you just look like my boyfriend." I immediately coughed as she said the last word.

"Oh, I didn't mean it like that. One of my exes had pink hair," she explains, finally making me breathe for air. That was too smooth that it made me misunderstand someone.

"So, you're Miss Yeji?" I asked her, and she nodded.

"How old are you again?" She asked me with a professional voice. I suddenly felt tense. I was sitting in front my boss, then I must do my best to impress and stay honest.

"22." She laughed a bit with my answer, making me look at her with pure curiosity.

"I'm sorry. It's just weird for me to hire someone for the first time who is older than me." My eyes widened. She's younger than me?

"I'm 21 years old. My parents gave me this island when I was 18. They helped me get workers for this camp, and now here I am." She wiggled her hands as if she's low-key celebrating this success.

I only heard this camp online, and noticed that there were no lifeguards around from all the footages that I've watched. So, I gathered up all my courage, and sent them an e-mail. I needed a job.

"Why did you build this camp anyway?" I asked her informally. Thankfully, she didn't scold me for doing such thing. She's my boss.

"That's... none of your business. Beach's open in fifteen minutes. Get yourself ready. There aren't a lot of people here, but many of them will attempt to drown themselves."

She stood up, and left the gazebo. Her sunset hair looks beautiful on her.

YEJI

I was too talkative to that worker. Well, I can't help but approach him! I don't know why. His aura from afar made me go to him, I guess. I wonder if he has a girl— no. The rules in this camp applies to me too. I too, need to recover from all the pain that my exes caused me.

As I made my way to my cabin, someone called my name from behind. I already knew who it was.

"Looks like you have a crush on that lifeguard." He grinned. That grin. I hate that the most.

"Soobin. For your information, I stopped liking people after we broke up. And, if I do have a crush on him, that's completely none of your business." I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest.

Choi Soobin. My ex. We broke up two years ago. He wasn't one of the toxic ones, by the way. He's the best boyfriend I ever had, but the thing was, we were better off as friends. He's the only friend that I have right now. All of my friends left me because they are also friends with my exes. Oh well, like what people say all the time, your ex's friends aren't your friends.

That's why I gave him a cabin here in my island. He's my best friend, and giving him a cabin is a simple thank you gift for our friendship that he chose to keep.

"I know you too well, Ji. Your eyes can tell, remember?" I hate it when he does that.

"Whatever, I'm going to stay in my room—" "Like you always do!" He shouted before I slammed the door behind me.

I don't like Yeonjun, but there's a high chance that I actually would have feelings for him. He's my type.
