I play that night over in my head.
The way you packed your things,
While she was in her lacy black underwear and loosely-fitted bra
Sitting quietly on the bed.
You were in the bathroom screaming things
leaving her alone to cry.
You may not have ended things
but that night without a doubt,
You weighed the heaviness of the rain with the lightness of our cloud,
And without uttering any words,
said goodbye.
