Rory's Point of View
Archer immediately ran out of the room when the sound of an explosion sounded from the other. I decided that was que for trying to escape, so I instantly started struggling against my restraints, ignoring the throbbing pain in my head.
I gotta get to Zylina, and see if she's okay. The sound of fighting hit my ears, and I wondered what the actual heck was going on.
"Hey!" I heard someone yell, and my head shot up; I was greeted by a man dressed in a black, armored suit, a black neck gaiter, and a black helmet; he was also looking at me through the scope of a rifle gun.
As the new-comer crept closer to me, I struggled even harder; well, that was until he pressed the barrel of the rifle into my chest, and said, "Stop struggling. You'll just make this worse." That got me to stop immediately.
I held my breath as the man crept to the side of the chair, the rifle still traced towards me. I felt the zip-ties release their grip on my wrists, and the man grabbed the back of my shirt to lift me to my feet.
"To the door." he said, jamming the barrel into my spine, and I had no choice but to quickly walk out the door.
It was complete chaos out in the main living area; smoke everywhere, with silhouettes of agents and whoever these guys were fighting against one another.
"Keep moving," the man commanded, but I knew if I went with this guy I might never find Zylina. In a quick unexpected movement, I turned around, grabbed and pulled the rifle away from my body, and punched him in the face.
The man collapsed to the floor, but I decided to give him one more hard punch just to be safe.
I looked around the room, and noticed that no one was paying attention to what I had just done, and I made my way to the door on the opposite side of the room. However, I was tackled to the floor before I could even touch the door knob. I looked into the face of the attacker and it was none other than...Cree. Sigh.
"Really Cree...out of all the people that you could be fighting right now it just had to be me." I exclaimed, before kneeing him in the gut and pushing him to the floor.
We both stood up, and readied ourselves, but Lilian appeared behind Cree and I watched as she tapped his shoulder, and then punched straight in the nose when he turned around.
"Go, I can handle him." she said, as Cree tried to recover from the unexpected blow.
I nodded, and mouthed a "thank you" to her, and peeked into the room. Spotting Zylina in the chair in front of me I rush in to untie her wrists.
She flinched when I touched her wrists, and I patted her shoulder while saying, "Hey, it's just me. Are you alright?"
Zylina hesitated to respond, and I got a little worried, but she nodded her head and got to her feet once she was released from the zip-ties.
I turned her around, and examined her for wounds; luckily it didn't look like she had wounds besides the scrapes on her wrists from the zip-ties, but she wouldn't look me in the eyes for some reason.
I wanted to ask her what was bothering her, but the yelling and gun-shots in the background reminded me that we needed to get out of there as soon as possible. Without a second thought, I grabbed Zylina's wrist and we sprinted out of the room.
I looked around the room, but didn't see Luke and Lilian through the smoke and commotion. A gun-shot behind us sounded, causing me to flinch, and I saw Zylina react in the same way.
"Go, go, go!" I exclaimed, pushing Zylina in front of me, and urging her to get to the door; I was right on her heels.
"W...What about Luke and Lilian?" Zylina asked through heavy breaths. Also breathing hard, I turned my gaze towards the house, terrified. What if they didn't make it?
I then saw two silhouettes coming out of the door-way, and when I recognized it to be Luke and Lilian I let out the breath I didn't realize I was holding.
I ran to them, and saw that Lilian had a black eye. "Did Cree...." I start to ask, but my voice trails off.
Lilian gave me a nod, but smiled as she answered, "Yeah, but hey, what's a little bruise gonna do?"
My chest tightens as the events from only hours ago come back to mind. I could see that Lilian had trouble looking me right in the eyes, and when I turned to Luke, his eyes said, "She's sorry."
"Hurry, get in the car. We'll talk about what to do next there." I ordered the two twins. They both nodded their heads in almost perfect sync, and got into the back seats of the car.
I dove into the driver's seat, and started up the engine. I looked over at Zylina, and she still had a terrified look in her eye, and as we pulled out onto the road, I asked, "Zyl, are you sure you're alright?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm alright." she answered, pinching the bridge of her nose, and not lifting her eyes from her feet. Seeing her discomfort, I decided not to push it, and averted my focus to the road ahead of me.
"Who were those guys? They just busted down the door like they were the FBI or something." Luke exclaimed.
"Actually, Luke, I think those guys were the FBI." I answered; they weren't with the Academy, and they dressed like an official agent, so it made sense.
Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw Zylina perk up, and give me a shocked expression.
"The Academy has your guys' faces now, where will you go?" I asked, turning my head a little bit.
"I think we'll keep moving, like you two do." Luke answered. I nodded my approval, and the rest of the trip back to the safe house was quiet with a tense atmosphere looming over us.
