 Days later....

So far there was nothing on the news about a missing child in Boston. We all did different things to keep ourselves occupied during this time; Rory and I trained a couple hours each day to sharpen out fighting skills, Lilian read and practiced hacking into different things that her brother had created for her, and Luke hacked into somethings while teaching me how to cook different things each day.

I wouldn't exactly say it felt like a normal life since we were training and hacking on a daily basis, but it was a peaceful time and it was good for us, though Luke still hasn't explained the file to me. However, good things have to end eventually, and about four days later, something showed up.

"Guys! An article popped up. Get down here!" We heard Luke call, while Rory and I were having a training session, and Lilian was spectating. After a quick glance towards one another the three of us sprinted downstairs like excited children on Christmas.

We gathered around the coffee table like we did four days earlier, and anxiously listened, as Luke read us the article that had popped up.

"3-year old boy, Axel, vanishes from home. Manhunt begins for kidnapper."

"How long ago was this posted?" Rory asked. Luke glanced at the computer for a few moments before replying with, "It was posted last night around 8, but there is another problem we have to deal with."

I perked up when I heard the last part, and I raised my eyebrow before asking him, "What is it?"

Luke sighed deeply, and started, "That file you retrieved from the old Academy facility...."

"Oh please don't tell me it was a decoy copy." Rory groaned. "Thankfully, it wasn't, but there are a few important pages missing from it. I think some of them fell out when Zylina had that little clumsy accident of her's." Luke explained to us. I blushed with embarrassment when he mentioned my countertop trip.

"Now what? The Academy is probably expecting Rory and Zylina to show up and save the poor kid." Lilian exclaimed. Sighing, I answered, "I'll go save the kid, you three get those missing papers."

"Zyl, there's no way you're going to get Axel all on your own!" Rory's sudden exclamation made me jump, but I quickly recovered and responded with, "Well, one of us has to get Axel, and I'm pretty sure I have the most fighting skill here."

We sat in silence for a few moments, trying to figure out which path we should take. "Maybe I should go get Axel." I perked up when I heard those words come out of Lilian's mouth.

Luke looked over at his twin in shock; his shock turned into anger, before he exclaimed, "No, no, absolutely not. Zylina is right about her having the most fighting skill out of the four of us. You are not going in there!"

"Luke, one of us has to go while the rest go get those papers, and you know she has to be there." Lilian argued back. Now I was intrigued; why did I need to be there when they found those papers. I glanced over at Rory and I knew he was thinking the same thing I was.

"Wait, why do I need to be there?" I decided to ask. "Because that file contains information about-"

"Lilian!" Luke cut her off, which caused all of us to jump where we were sitting. Sighing, he continued with, "You, me, kitchen room now."

Lilian rose to her feet and followed Luke into the kitchen. Both Rory and I watched as he closed and locked the door. "Uh, okay, that was very sudden." Rory mumbled. I didn't answer; instead I just kept staring at the door Luke disappeared through.

Luke's Point of View

I slammed the door shut, locked it so no one would interrupt, and then turned around to give Lilian a death glare. She had her arms crossed in front of her chest, and I could see she was a little tense.

"Lilian, why would you even think of going?" I exclaimed, throwing my hands into the air. "Because I actually want to do something." Lilian retaliated, mimicking my throwing hands in the air gesture.

I let out a scoff, and asked in utter confusion, "Lil, what do you mean?" "I've done nothing but sit by and watch you three do all the work. I want to jump in on the action." she protested.

I narrowed my eyes and examined her for a moment. "That's not the only reason you want to jump in." I muttered. Lilian glanced down at her feet, and I sighed, "What's the real reason?"

"Zylina needs to be told. Sooner or later she's going to start asking questions about the file. I mean, didn't you tell me she was asking questions a couple nights ago?" Lilian explained to me.

I leaned against the wall, and responded, "I will, in time." "No, you'll tell her when we walk out this door." Lilian practically ordered me.

I rubbed my face with the palm of my hands, and looked over at her. "I don't want you to get hurt." I told her. Lilian walked to my side, and placed a gentle hand on my shoulder, and softly said, "You can't protect from everything."

I nodded with a smile on my face, and ruffled her hair. "I'll let you go in, but if things get hairy you get out whether you have Axel or not. Understand?" I commanded her.

Lilian smiled, and exclaimed, "Aye, Aye Captain." We then embraced each other, and I hoped this wouldn't be our last hug.
