When we left off...

I walked for a minute before I reached the car, smiling all the way. Rory was okay, my nightmares weren't constant, and the Academy had slowed down on their chase for us. I didn't exactly know whether the last one was a good or a bad thing, but it had allowed Rory to recover fully, and take a small break, but I was always on the lookout for missing children cases that screamed the Academy.

I pressed the unlock button on the keys, and reached for the door handle, but I then felt a hand grasp my shoulder. Before I had time to turn my head, I then felt the too familiar feeling of the metal barrel of a pistol being pressed against the middle of my back.

My heart skipped a beat, as I felt the warm breath hit my ear, as my attacker whispered, "You will follow me if you value your life." My breathing grew frantic, as I processed the words.

Just moments ago things were going good; I was back with Rory, and I had saved a kid from the hands of the Academy while gaining an ally along the way. Now, I was trapped; cornered like a caged animal.
