A blood trail ran down my arm passing my hand. Dripping off my fingertips and landing on the floor.
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
The open wound was on my left forearm. As long as my index finger and the blood painted the sink crimson. Turning on the faucet and just stared as the blood floated down the drain.
"Don't you think you should go to the nurse?" Looking up in the mirror to see Tikki's reflection. "That looks really serious, Marinette!" Wrapping my arm in paper towels, I cleansed my hands of the blood. The soap was running over the scab on my palm.
'It was less than a week and I already had two flesh wounds from a blade.'
"Marinette did you hear what I said!" She cried as I turned off the water.
"I'm....going okay" She phased into my purse, and I headed to the nurses' office for the second time.
~~~~~~~~
"Really, Marinette weren't you just in here?" Nodding, the nurse sat me in a chair.
"What can I say I'm a klutz."
"Well, then I guess the majority of the students here are too. First Nino and now you, I guess it's too hard for students to be careful nowadays." She began spreading ointment on my arm then started wrapping my arm in gauze. "So, what exactly happened to your arm?"
"Oh, uhm my locker cut me when I opened it too fast." She looked at me with skepticism and concern.
Once she was done, she headed over to her desk. Watching her while patiently waiting to be discharged, she came back. In her hand was a pamphlet and she sat next to me.
"Marinette, you do understand that anything you wish to tell me stays here in this room, okay."
'If I told her about what happened with Alya and Lila, they would just make my life worse. Lila would somehow convince everyone that I tried to hurt her first and she was just defending herself.'
Letting out a sigh I shook my head as the nurse gave me a small smile. She placed the pamphlet in my hand.
"Marinette, I can't force you to tell me anything. But I want you to know that you're not alone okay." Nodding in confusion I walked out of the room gripping onto the pamphlet. Sitting down against the wall I looked at the cover.
The title read: "Everything Okay?" under it was a picture of a teen sitting alone on a bench.
Opening the pamphlet there were three columns. The first column talked about if one is struggling it's okay to ask for help. The second column listed counseling services and a suicide prevention hotline number. The third column listed support groups for teens in the area.
"Why would she give me this?!" Staring at the pamphlet in disbelief, Tikki flew out of the purse and landed on my shoulder to read over it.
"This is a serious issue Marinette, you're not thinking of hurting yourself right?"
"Of course, not Tikki the nurse is probably giving these to everybody that sees her." After assuring her that I was fine she flew back into my purse. Glancing back at the pamphlet I crumbled it up and stood to go throw it away. Then walked to my last class of the day which was history. Walking into the room I saw Alya tending to Nino's arm. Chloe and Sabrina were reading gossip magazines. Everyone else was standing around where Lila was sitting. Slightly touching my own wrapped arm, I headed to the back of the room. Staring at the clock hoping that the time would go by faster. Yet I couldn't help noticing my classmates looking at me.
