Adrien's POV
"Adrien?" Her voice was raspy and it made my heartache.
"I'm here, it's all over, we're safe now." Slowly as I wrapped my arms around her as she limped into my body. Her own hands clinging onto my shoulders. Bunching the fabric of my shirt as it became wet with her tears.
"We.....lost Adrien." She sounded so defeated, rubbing circles on her back to soothe her.
"No, we won because we survived."
We had probably survived the third worst thing to have happened to me.
Hearing the kwamis shuffle in the bag as well as Marinette's stomach growl. She quickly unraveled her arms and pushed back from me.
When was the last time we had eaten anything?
"Let's go get some food in you." Helping her off the tile floor, with one hand on her shoulder. It was best if her parents weren't in the room.
"Mr., Mrs. Dupain-Cheng can Marinette and I have a moment alone." Even standing before them Marinette was still shaking.
"What?! No, we just found our daughter having a mental breakdown." Her father exclaimed; out of the corner of my eyes, it looked as if Marinette was in a daze. Her eyes were glassy as she stared at her parents. She was still breathing hard as I gently squeezed her shoulder.
"She's having a panic attack and maybe suffering from PTSD. So please give us a moment alone. Turning my head towards her, Marinette's eyes were downcasted.
"PTSD from what? Marinette what is he talking about?!" Her mother cried taking a step forward. Causing Marinette to lean her body against me.
"Leave please" she whispered to her parents.
"But Marinette?"
"Go!" She cried in anguish I watched as her parents flinched. Locking their eyes with mine and they backed away. As Marinette and I watched them head upstairs.
Once gone Plagg and Tikki flew out of the bag as I led her to the dining table. Then went to prepare some food for us. While microwaving plates of food all I could think about was how shell-shocked she looked. Placing myself on the back burner to focus on her. Right now m'lady needed her prince. As the food cooked I turned to look at her. As Plagg and Tikki waltzed in the air. From my view, one corner of her lip curled. It was a smile, a tiny one and yet it never reached her eyes.
As if they were vacant, no longer gleaming. They were just as dull as they were when she regained her memories. Just as the beeping went off, Marinette was applauding the floating duo. Bringing her plate to her I went to get the other plates. Placing them on the table I sat in a chair. I watched as she bit into the ham.
Maybe this was the downfall of giving the miraculous back to her. Of course, we had faced many challenges before as Ladybug, Chat Noir.
But as our civilian selves fighting against an Akuma. Which was always the possibility of living in Paris. But to this extent and how it has impacted her. Having her be Akumatized and then dealing with Huli jing she needed to-
"My parents called you here?" She questioned breaking my thoughts. Nodding I told her how I was alright awake when Tikki came. When I got the call from her parents. "Why aren't you freaking out?"
"Who says I didn't, I woke up around eleven. In tears and Plagg greeted me with a cataclysm. My room is in complete disarray."
"Hey, I said I was sorry, I had to deal with a clone. Who acted as if I wasn't even there." Plagg groaned and Tikki said the same thing happened to her. As Marinette goes up to fill a cup of water. I explained to her how I thought my room was an illusion.
