Marinette's POV
Fluttering my eyes open I immediately started coughing. Forcing my body to sit up as I reached for my throat. Since a lingering burning sensation was caressing my now parched throat. Licking my chapped lips I noticed that I was on a thin, lumpy mattress. Quickly surveying my surroundings I realized that I was in a small, dark room with grey walls. Removing my hand I noticed that the floor was concrete and had numerous cracks. There was a single lightbulb swaying overhead. In one corner there was a black bucket. Along the wall, there was a metal table and chair with an air duct above the table. Across from the mattress was a door with bars over it. A small rectangular opening is located at the bottom.
Pushing myself off the mattress I limped over to the table. There were multicolored wires that decorated the table. Along with a box that had four colored switches parallel to it. In the chair there looked to be two blood pressure cuffs; a waist trainer and a collar. Leaning over, I picked up the collar. It was black with small, thin black wires attached to it. Grimacing, I threw it onto the table and shuffled to the door. Gripping the bars I kneeled onto the floor and tried to look out the opening. Sticking my hand out I shivered at the cool breeze. Wiggling my fingers, pushing more of my arm out of the opening. Only to stop when the opening started to dig into my elbow.
Grunting I carefully pulled my arm and leaned against the door. There weren't any windows so I couldn't tell if it was day or night. Though given the timeline of our kidnapping it had to have been nighttime.
How long had I been unconscious?
Running my fingers through my matted hair at the base of my skull I could feel dried blood. Pulling my hand I could barely make out the small flakes of blood. Eyes fixating on the long scar on my palm. It felt like such a lifetime ago, almost like a dream. Yet here I was being thrust into another nightmare.
"Is.....anyone there?"
His voice sent a shiver down my spine; positioning myself onto my stomach I placed my cheek onto the cool ground. Looking out I couldn't make out anything except for a brick wall.
"A-Adrien?"
"Marinette where.....are you? Are you okay?"
"I-I don't know, some kind of cell but I'm okay, what about you?"
"I'm in the same predicament but I'm so thirsty." Nodding I moved my arm back into the opening. Shifting along the floor, I brushed into something warm. Gasping as my pinky intertwined with his. This unfortunately was the only contact we could manage.
"Adrien d-do you have a table there with you too?"
"Yeah, with wires and buttons, but whatever Lila is planning I have no interest in participating." A smile spread upon my lips knowing that my Chat was a fighter.
"Do you really think we can get out of this?"
"Of course Princess, through all the ups and downs it's us against the world!" He was so enthusiastic given our situation; his pinky was brushing against mine. Soothing my mind of all the numerous scenarios running through my head.
"Well isn't that sweet, you think you're getting out of this." Lila's voice filled the void causing Adrien and me to pull apart. Shifting my weight to lean against the door; while noticing a small TV that was mounted in another corner. The screen showed Lila sitting in a beige recliner.
Leaning forward her flute in one hand, spinning as if it was a baton.
"Let us out!" I yelled, slamming my hand on the floor. Ignoring the pain as my hand began to throb.
