Chapter 22

It's been a week since Emma's miscarriage. She had to stay in bedrest and couldn't really walk because of the pain in her belly. After this week she is getting better at walking but can't do some long walks. Kilian helps her everytime she needs help. He took some days off so he could stay with her.

Mentally it was still difficult for both of them. Emma was crying and blaming herself everyday and Kilian couldn't bear to see his swan suffering that much. He was hurting too but tried to be strong for his Swan. At the end of the week she was getting a little better and when Kilian's mother invited them to dinner without Kilian's father but Liam next week, she insisted so Kilian would accept. And right now they were on their way to Alice's house.

"Emma are you sure it's a good idea ?"

"Yes Kilian, look I won't walk so I'll be fine. It will help me get off my mind of you know what and your mother will be so happy to see you. And I will finally meet your brother"

"Yeah I just hope everything will be fine and that my father won't show up"

"Don't worry you mother knows he can't be here"

"I hope, just promise me that if you don't feel well or you want to go home you will tell me" he looks at her so concerned.

"I promise you"

They were arrived at the house and she pecks him on the lips before getting out of the car.

Alice greets them with a big smile and made them sit on the couch. Liam was in the other couch and greets them too.

"So Emma nice to meet you, I heard much about you from mom" Liam says

"It's nice to meet you too Liam"

"She told me that you're the head of a bakery ?"

"Yeah I'm the co-owner with my best friend, we decided to start this project together"

"And what's make you start this project"

Emma starts to feel a little uncomfortable, Liam was making her feels like a criminal at the examination.

"I needed a fresh start" she says hoping he won't ask another question about it. Unfortunately she was wrong.

"A fresh start about what ?"

"Liam !" Snaps Kilian who knew Emma didn't want to answer that

"What's wrong brother, I'm trying to get to know her ?"

"No you don't you just want to make her feels uncomfortable because I'm sure you already have the answer at your question"

"Indeed I have" Liam answers

"Then why are you asking me ?" Emma asks not understanding

"Because I wanted you to know that I'm not on your side and my father was right, you're weak and you're nothing but an useless orphan"

Kilian who had heard enough gets up and punch his brother on his face.

"Go away" he tells him

"Don't worry I didn't plan on staying watching you with you're useless girlfriend" with that he turns around and leaves

Kilian turns to Emma, she had her face in her hands.

"Love ?"

"First your father and now your brother, Kilian I'm so sorry I really didn't want to cause any of this family feud" she says sadly

He sat next to her.

"It's okay Emma, it's always been like this"

"He's right don't worry Emma, Liam and Brennan always been grumpy and focus on one idea but don't worry one day they will see how amazing you are" Alice says taking Emma's hand.
