Sarah's POV
I take a deep breath to try and calm my nerves. I'm a lot more scared them I'm letting on to Henry and Charlotte.
I'm not sure if I'm going to come clean to my parents, or just pretend I know nothing. I'm not even sure if they'll figure it out from the large array of weapons we're bringing with us. Which aren't easy to carry by the way.
I have huge blaster slung over my shoulder, and compared to my usual of no weapons, this is a pretty big step up. Charlotte is struggling slightly with the fancy looking gadget she's hefting. She's rocking the sidekick costume though.
"Where to next?" Henry asks, turning to look at me.
"Um, turn left." I answer, checking the coordinates on my watch.
"Okay." Henry swings the wheel in the direction of the turn.Oh yeah. Did I forget to mention Henry was driving us there?
"You're going to get us killed!" Charlotte yells at Henry.
"I didn't see you volunteering to drive!" Henry retorts.
"That's cause you jumped in the front seat before we could!" Charlotte exclaims.
"Well I'm a guy! As cliché as that is, what guy wouldn't want to drive a FLYING CAR!"Oh. Did I also forget to mention the flying car waiting for us at the top of those tubes?
Why did my parents bother driving me around in our SUV when they had this sweet ride the whole time? I'm starting to think I know why my parents didn't want me to get my driver's license until I turned 18.
"Yo, Sar, wanna tell me where we're going now?" Henry's looking at me pointedly.
"Sorry!" I say, looking down at the GPS.
"Uhh actually, we're here." I say, surprised.
"What?" Henry asks, stopping the car dead so that we're now hovering in the air.I show him the GPS.
"See. It says we're here." I tell him, pointing at the blinking red dot lined up with the green dot on the screen.
"Well where is 'here'?" He asks.
"Let's find out!" Charlotte says, taking control from Henry.
"Hey!" He tries to protest.
"I've had enough of your driving skills for today." Charlotte snaps. We plunge downwards almost immediately.
"CHARLOTTE ARE YOU SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING?" I yell over Henry's screams.
"THIS IS WORSE THAN THE ELEVATOR!" Henry yells angrily.
"SHUT UP!" Charlotte and I yell at him in unison. Finally, Charlotte pulls out of the dive, and we land smoothly on the ground.
"And you had a problem with MY driving." Henry mutters to her glumly under his breath. Charlotte shoots him a murderous glance."Guys, c'mon, we kind of have some more important things to deal with right now." I remind them. They grumble in agreement
"So where are we?" Charlotte asks.
Fog has slowly been creeping in all day, so it's now pretty eery out, and not to mention, hard to see.
"I don't know." Henry replies, looking around.
"We're at the abandoned amusement park. The one that closed down 2 years ago; 'Coaster Coast'." I reply, looking up from my phone.
My friends look at me, surprised.
"What? I just looked up the address from the GPS, on my phone." I answer, holding up my phone, and pointing to the screen."Oh. Right. Cell phone." Henry says sheepishly.
"Yep." Charlotte adds, nodding."Let's go." I say, pointing in the direction my watch is telling us to go.
I start traipsing in the right direction, trying to avoid the soggy places all over, caused by the sudden change in weather.
"Ew." Charlotte says, as her boot squishes into some mud.
"Yeah, watch out for the mud." I say."Wait. Guys, be quiet." Henry suddenly hisses. We've stopped in front of the old entrance gates. He pulls us behind one of the toll booths, and two guards walk by. We all share a startled glance. We came pretty close to being discovered.
"Let's sneak in that break in the fence." I say, pointing to a spot in the chain link fence, where it's rusted away enough for us to fit through.
I grab Charlotte and pull her towards the gap with me, with Henry following behind us.We just managed to squeeze through. I don't think any adults could fit, so Ray and my parents must have come in some other way.
We duck behind a dejected-looking shrub as another guard walks by. This time, a lot closer than the last guards.
"C'mon." I hiss, as we start creeping again, in the direction of Ray, and hopefully my parents.
We make it to an old warehouse type building where it looks like they fixed some of the rides. There's an old, weather beaten door on the side of the building that's been left unlocked. It seems oddly suspicious, but we don't pause long enough to think about it.
Henry swings the door open and we walk inside. The air feels musty and damp. And quite unpleasant.
"Where are we going now?" Henry whispers.
"This way." I reply, leading on through the darkened building. We continue on down a hall, stopping in front of a closed door."This is it." I say. "Are we ready?" Charlotte and Henry nod without hesitation.
"Then let's go." I kick down the door and barge in.
The first thing that greats us, is my parents and Ray, bound to sturdy looking chairs. Their mouths have now been bound with duct tape. And I'm not sure how to get them out of their bindings.
Ray's eyes light up as he sees us, but he quickly frowns worriedly, confusing me. My parents glance at us with concerned faces as well.
But before I can help them at all, a chilling voice greets us.
"Well look who decided to join us. Swellview's favourite junior goody-two-shoes!"
I turn around to see Lord X smiling down at us from a platform above.
"We've been expecting you." He adds.
This can't be good.
