Sarah's POV

"Well, where are we?" Debbie questions me.
"I think it's the transport bay." I answer. "But it leads to the backyard so we can get back into the house." I add.

I lead her the way I found yesterday. Through a corridor that ends in a door. I push open the door and we climb out of a tree trunk into my backyard. The tree stands in the shadows of a couple of other trees, at the end of my backyard, farthest away from the house.

"Wow, you'd never guess this was back here." Debbie remarks.
"I know. I almost couldn't believe it myself that I'd never noticed it before." I reply.

I walk towards my back door, and since it has the same key code as the front door, I can get into the house without going to the front.

I slide open the door and step inside, while Debbie closes the door the behind us.
"Hello?" I yell into the house.

I can't hear anyone moving around, and no one answers me. I walk towards the kitchen where my mom was making dinner earlier.

Everything has been put away. The vegetables my mom had been cutting up for a salad weren't on the table anymore, and the spaghetti that had been cooking on the stove was nowhere in sight.

I spy the empty spaghetti pot in the sink, and on a hunch, pull open the refrigerator door. The salad had been wrapped up, and the spaghetti and its sauce had been put in containers.

There's a note hanging off the pasta bowl. I grab it and close the fridge.
"Had to go grab a few last minute groceries. Be home in an hour or so, love mom & dad."

I hand the note to Debbie so she can read it.

"Does that sound oddly suspicious to you?" I ask.
"It's almost a beacon for low-key superhero cover up." she agrees.
"After all this, they really don't trust me." I remark.

Debbie opens her mouth to protest, but I hold up my hand.
"Don't give me any crap about how they love me and they're just trying to protect me, I am more than capable of defending myself." I scoff.
"Alright, fine." Debbie crosses her arms and frowns. "Now what are you going to do? Since you're so confident in yourself." Debbie rolls her eyes.

"I'm calling my boss. Someone who will actually tell me the truth." I shoot back.

I push a button on my watch, the one that holographic calls Ray.

"Hey Sarah, what's up?" Ray asks.
"Where are my parents?" I ask cooly. Ray looks me in confusion.
"What are you talking about Sarah? Last I knew you were going to do something with them."
"Well they've left, leaving only a note that's clearly a superhero cover up." I tell him.

Ray looks to his side at something off screen.
"I have no idea Sarah, Henry and I have been up in the man copter all day. But we'll meet you in the man cave ASAP if you want." Ray offers.
"That'd be great. Um, can Debbie come too? She kinda knows about everything." I say, expecting Ray to get mad.
"Yeah, just hurry." Ray says without complaint.

I don't bother to question it. I grab Debbie and head out the door. I pause briefly to check that the door locks, then take off running with Debbie towards Junk 'N Stuff.

Sarah, stop. Debbie's voice invades my thoughts. I freeze, trying to grasp what's happening.

I realize I'm half a block away from my house when I had still been on my street a second ago.

Are you in my head? I ask.

Yes. Somehow you've got super speed. Please come get me. Debbie pleads.
